Trachinotus goreensis (Cuvier) View in CoL ;
Longfin pompano
Remarks: Trachinotus goreensis was found exclusively in Epe and was rarely captured during the study. This species is distributed in marine and brackish waters, ranging from Senegal through the Gulf of Guinea to Congo. Trachinotus goreensis is characterized by its short, deep, and compressed body, with a blunt snout and a small eye. Another distinctive feature of this species is the presence of five dark blotches along its sides: the first blotch appears as a vertically elongated bar, the second is oval-shaped, and the remaining blotches progressively decrease in size and become more rounded toward the posterior.
