Remarks: Schilbe uranoscopus , synonymized with Schilbe isidori (Valenciennes) was occasionally caught in Epe and Ikorodu during the study. It has a wide distribution across the Niger River and its basin, extending downstream to the Cross River basin, Chad basin, the Nile, and the Lake Turkana system. Schilbe uranoscopus is characterized by a single dorsal fin, the absence of an adipose fin, and 59–73 anal soft rays. Its eyes are positioned dorsolaterally.
