Natural History: Leavengood (2008b) noted that adults have been collected on peach ( Prunus persica ) and water oak ( Quercus nigra ). This species has been reared from fusiform rust canker on slash pine ( Pinus elliottii ) and pupae collected from cones of slash pine ( Leavengood 2008b). Nocturnal—comes to lights.
Chemical lures: Leavengood (2008b) reported collections via Lindgren funnel traps baited with alpha-beta pinene or ethanol or turpentine + frontalin from label data, but the attractiveness of these lures to C. wolcotti has yet to be tested.
Comments: Collected with Malaise traps and a wooden block nest intercept trap in Florida ( Leavengood 2008b) . Note: Burke & Zolnerowich (2014) discovered that females of C. undulata and C. wolcotti cannot be reliably separated. Therefore, specimens of these two species that were identified prior to this 2014 paper and distributions and feeding habits derived from them should be considered tentative.
