03CB223EFFC55568FF5BFB1BFCD4E0F8.taxon	materials_examined	Type: — SOUTH AFRICA. Northern Cape: upper quartzite slopes of the eastern Rosyntjieberge, near Mt. Terror, s. d., Van Jaarsveld 6138 (holotype BOL 133606!). Note: — Cheiridopsis angustifolia subsp. protoparcoides is more compact than C. angustifolia subsp. angustifolia with a caespitose habit that is not mat-forming. The leaves of C. angustifolia subsp. protoparcoides are slender, with more teeth (3 – 5), which are black in colour, while subsp. angustifolia have fewer teeth (0 – 4), which are green to reddish, with thick leaves. While the capsule morphology is shared between the two subspecies, the flowers of subsp. protoparcoides are larger (c. 50 mm in diameter) compared to the smaller flower of subsp. angustifolia (c. 40 mm in diameter). The species are both distributed in Namaqualand, however, subsp. protoparcoides occupies the northern extent of the distribution while subsp. angustifolia is found in the southern parts of Namaqualand.	en	Powell, Robyn F., Boatwright, James S., Klak, Cornelia, Magee, Anthony R.
