03C9AE2C614BFFE1FF2FFDEC118CFA66.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Females of P. himalayaensis closely resemble the females of P. pandeae in the shape of epigynum, but can be distinguished from the latter by epigynum without M-shaped anterior margin (epigynum of P. pandeae with narrow, M-shaped anterior margin) and with comma-shaped shadows of vulvae (P. pandeae with C-shaped shadows of vulvae) (compare Fig. 3 with Fig. 14). Supplementary description. Female (holotype, Figs 1 – 2). Colour in alcohol: carapace, eye region, clypeus, chelicerae, fangs brownish; opisthosoma greyish-brown with irregular striae on dorsum composed of fine black hairs. Fovea obsolete. Body length 5.80. 03C9AE2C614BFFE1FF2FF932139FF85A.taxon	materials_examined	Type materials. P. indicus. Type male from INDIA: Maharashtra: Pune (= Poona) (18 ° 31 ’ 13.55 ’’ N, 73 ° 51 ’ 24.28 ’’ E), 565 m alt.; E. Simon leg.; date unknown; repository unknown (probably MNHN, Paris), not examined. P. ixodinus. Type female from INDIA: Uttarakhand: Konain (2377 m (7800 ft) alt.) and Mundali (2438 m (8000 ft) alt.); F. Gleadow leg.; date unknown; repository unknown (probably NHM, London), not examined. Note. According to Platnick (1976), the synonymy of P. ixodinus with P. indicus was wrongly judged by Pocock (1900) and the former species might be valid. Since we could not examine the types of both species, we are unable to confirm this and thus could not suggest any taxonomical changes.	en	Sankaran, Pradeep M., Caleb, John T.
