Triana (1871) used the collection Spruce 2014 to describe H. angustifolia, although there is no mention to the herbarium where the material was deposited. Duplicates of this collection exist at BM, BR, C, E, F, G, GH, K, LD, M, MG, NY, and P. The specimen K 000537024 was selected as lectotype, because it was the most representative taking into account the original description, showing well-conserved vegetative and reproductive structures and bearing Triana’s own signature confirming the species identification.	en	Brito, Eliete Da Silva, Lima, Laíce Fernanda Gomes De, Baumgratz, José Fernando A., Viana, Pedro Lage (2019): Lectotypification of names in Henriettea (Melastomataceae, Henrietteeae). Swartz (1788) described M. fasciculare (as ‘ fascicularis ’) based on his collection in Jamaica, without providing the number and date of collection, neither the herbarium where it was housed. Three specimens labelled “ Swartz, Jamaica ” as handwritten by Swartz were located in S-R, SBT and LD. The specimen S-R- 3460 was chosen as lectotype, because it is well in agreement with the protologue description of the species, and it has more abundant reproductive material. Despite a label by R. A. Howard found on the specimen indicating that this would be the lectotype of M. fasciculare, no published work was found containing the lectotypification, intentional or otherwise, of this name. Naudin (1852) described Sagraea acutiflora based on the collections Plée s. n. and Hooker s. n. Three specimens of these collections were found in P herbarium. Although the two specimens of Plée s. n. are labelled with a description and illustration of the reproductive structures produced by Naudin, the specimen P 01818725 was selected as lectotype because it also included a citation of the type locality, “ Antillas-Porto-Rico ”.	en	Brito, Eliete Da Silva, Lima, Laíce Fernanda Gomes De, Baumgratz, José Fernando A., Viana, Pedro Lage (2019): Lectotypification of names in Henriettea (Melastomataceae, Henrietteeae). Vellozo (1829: 180) described Melastoma glabrum from the Atlantic Forest in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and later Cogniaux (1888) transfered it to Henriettella, as Henriettella glabra. However, Melastoma glabrum Vell. is illegitimate because it is a later homonym of M. glabrum Forster (1786: 34), described from the Society Islands, French Polynesia. According to art. 58.1 of the Code, Henriettella glabra Cogn. has priority from 1888 and is the basionym of Henriettea glabra. Cogniaux (1888) described Henriettella glazioviana based on Glaziou 8684, and indicated the herbarium B, BR and C as the accessible collection of the type material. Within these, the specimen BR 0000006417802 was selected as lectotype, because it was the only with the information of the locality indicated in the protologue, and also handwritten by Cogniaux. Penneys et al. (2010) recognized both species, Henriettea glabra (Cogn.) Penneys, Michelangeli, Judd & Almeda and Henriettea cogniauxiana Penneys, Michelangeli, Judd & Almeda (≡ H. glazioviana), probable they missed the synonymization by Silva & Baumgratz (2008). So here we recognized the name Henriettea cogniauxiana as a synonym for Henriettea glabra.	en	Brito, Eliete Da Silva, Lima, Laíce Fernanda Gomes De, Baumgratz, José Fernando A., Viana, Pedro Lage (2019): Lectotypification of names in Henriettea (Melastomataceae, Henrietteeae). The gathering Spruce 3360 is labelled with more complete information on the collection locality, as well as being better preserved, enabling comparisons with the protologue. Within the duplicates of this collection, we selected the specimen K 000006405 as lectotype, because it is well preserved, and with substantial reproductive material attached to the branches. It should be emphasized that this same Spruce numeration (3360) was also used by him to record two other different specimens (BR 0000005187935, P 01818593), which were analyzed by Cogniaux (1888) to describe Henriettea spruceana, which is clearly distinct from H. granulata.	en	Brito, Eliete Da Silva, Lima, Laíce Fernanda Gomes De, Baumgratz, José Fernando A., Viana, Pedro Lage (2019): Lectotypification of names in Henriettea (Melastomataceae, Henrietteeae). Pilger (1905) described H. horridula based on Ule 5398, but he did not mention the herbarium where it was deposited. The herbaria B and HBG are the most representative regarding Ule’s collection (Borges et al. 2018). However, only a photograph of this specimen is extant in B herbarium, as the original was probably destroyed during the Second World War. Specimens from this collection are deposited in CORD, HBG, K, and MG, and present labels including the collection locality, plant height, flower colour, collector number and date, along with the species name and the indication “ n. sp. ”. The specimen HBG 522811 was chosen here as the lectotype, following Borges et al. (2018) guidelines for lectotypification of Ule’s collections. This specimen is well preserved and morphologicaly representative, with abundant reproductive material, facilitating the comparison with the protologue description.	en	Brito, Eliete Da Silva, Lima, Laíce Fernanda Gomes De, Baumgratz, José Fernando A., Viana, Pedro Lage (2019): Lectotypification of names in Henriettea (Melastomataceae, Henrietteeae). Based on the collection Ule 5094, Pilger (1905) described H. lasiostylis without mentioning the herbarium in which the studied material was deposited. There are duplicates deposited in CORD, HBG, K and MG. Probably, Pilger analyzed the specimen at B, once this was the location where he developed his studies. There are no specimens of this collection at this herbarium, and we presume that they have been destroyed during the Second World War. All specimen labels have similar data to those mentioned in the protologue, such as habit, plant height, locality, and collection date, in addition to the species name followed by “ n. sp. ”. The specimen HBG 522810 was chosen here as the lectotype, following Borges et al. (2018) guidelines for lectotypification of Ule’s collections. The specimen has well preserved vegetative and reproductive structures (buds and flowers), enabling a complete comparison with the protologue.	en	Brito, Eliete Da Silva, Lima, Laíce Fernanda Gomes De, Baumgratz, José Fernando A., Viana, Pedro Lage (2019): Lectotypification of names in Henriettea (Melastomataceae, Henrietteeae). Wurdack & Renner (1993) state that the holotype was deposited at P, but there are three specimens of this collection at this herbarium. In agreement with Art. 9.10 and 9.17 of the ICN (Turland et al. 2018), the indication of Wurdack & Renner (1993) is the first-step in the lectotypification. All the specimens found at P are labelled with locality information, collector name and number, as well as the species name handwritten by Cogniaux. Here we conclude the second-step of the lectotypification, electing the specimen P 01818621 as lectotype, because it includes the largest number of well-preserved flowers attached to the branch, and is probably the material utilized for the illustration (Tabula CXV) cited in the protologue, considering the resemblance of the vegetative and reproductive structures. Ule (1915) described H. longistyla, based on his collection Ule 7844 carried out in Brazil, in 1908, but without stating the herbarium where the specimen was deposited. It can be presumed that the German botanist E. H. G. Ule deposited this specimen at B during his work as an assistant at the Berlin Herbarium, and that it was probably destroyed during the Second World War. Duplicates of this collection were found in MG and K, and, in the absence of a specimen in B or HBG (see Borges et al. 2018), the specimen K 000537071 is selected as lectotype, as it is the best preserved sheet and presents more abundant flowering material.	en	Brito, Eliete Da Silva, Lima, Laíce Fernanda Gomes De, Baumgratz, José Fernando A., Viana, Pedro Lage (2019): Lectotypification of names in Henriettea (Melastomataceae, Henrietteeae). Specimens of this collection were found at K, L, NY, and U. The specimen U 0004025 is selected as the lectotype, because it belongs to the herbarium where Miquel worked, in additon to the well preserved structures and abundant reproductive material. Gleason (1939) described H. succosa var. guianensis based on Sandwith 1056, and indicated that the holotype was deposited at K. Rio Negro, coll. R. Spruce, Dec. - Mart. 1850 - 51 ”. Additionally, the labels contain the name of the species written by Cogniaux. The syntype Spruce s. n. (G-DC 00328212) was selected as lectotype, because it better represent the species, with abundant complete flowers (including stamens), and better preserved vegetative and reproductive material. It should be noted that Spruce used the same collection number 3360 to record other different specimens (B † [photograph F 17262], BR 0000005222131, E 00505304, G 00328210, GH 00072306, K 000006405, K 000006406, MG 19681, NY 00228619, P 01818653), which were analyzed by Triana (1871) to describe Henriettea granulata, a species morphologically distinct from H. spruceana.	en	Brito, Eliete Da Silva, Lima, Laíce Fernanda Gomes De, Baumgratz, José Fernando A., Viana, Pedro Lage (2019): Lectotypification of names in Henriettea (Melastomataceae, Henrietteeae). Spruce 2606 (lectotype: K 000537030!, first-step designated by Wurdack & Renner (1993), second-step designated here; isolectotypes: B † [photograph F 17267!], BM 001008257!, BR 0000005188260!, BR 0000005188598!, C 10014577!, E 00285792!, G-DC 00328211!, GH 00072307!, K 000537029!, LD 1224690!, NY 00228622!, P 01818591!, P 01818592!). Triana (1871) described H. stellaris based on the collection Spruce 2606, but without indicating the herbarium where it was deposited. Specimens of this collection are found at BM, BR, C, E, F, G, GH, LD, NY, and P. According to Wurdack & Renner (1993), the holotype is found at K, where there are two specimens from this collection. Both specimens also show the locality, collection, collector data, and collection number. In accordance with Art. 9.10 and 9.17 of the ICN (Turland et al. 2018), the indication by Wurdack & Renner (1993) represents the first-step of lectotypification. Thus, we proceed to the second-step, indicating the specimen K 000537030 as lectotype, because it exhibits more developed inflorescences and more abundant complete flowers, that are also better preserved.	en	Brito, Eliete Da Silva, Lima, Laíce Fernanda Gomes De, Baumgratz, José Fernando A., Viana, Pedro Lage (2019): Lectotypification of names in Henriettea (Melastomataceae, Henrietteeae).
