03D1879B1B11FFC89C49FB44FD4F2DBC.taxon	description	Bouchard and Bousquet (2020) showed that Arrhipis Bonvouloir, 1871 is a junior homonYm of Arrhipis Agassiz, 1846 and thus both this name and Arrhipidini [Arhipini Cobos, 1964] were unavailable. Furthermore, Bouchard et al. (2024) noted that Gemminger in Gemminger and Harold (1869) was actuallY the first to make Arrhipis available to a eucnemid group instead of Bonvouloir (1871) when he assigned two species to that group in their publication. Comment: The junior homonYm Arrhipis Gemminger, 1869, not Agassiz, 1846, has been substituted with its junior subjective sYnonYm Nematodinus Lea, 1919 recentlY bY Bouchard et al. (2024). No action is needed to replace the unavailable name Arrhipidini as it is an unnecessarY name given current understanding of Eucnemidae classification. Both morphological (Alaruikka 2005) and total evidence (J. Muona, in preparation) analYses indicate the group would be paraphYletic.	en	Muona, Jyrki, Otto, Robert L. 03D1879B1B11FFC89C49FB44FD4F2DBC.taxon	discussion	Comment: This problem cannot be resolved without a separate application to the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature. An application for a replacement name will be submitted shortlY.	en	Muona, Jyrki, Otto, Robert L. (2024): Notes on Family-Group Names of False Click Beetles (Coleoptera: Eucnemidae). 03D1879B1B11FFCB9FA1FA1EFEF52B35.taxon	discussion	Comment: We see no need to make an application to preserve usage of Macraulacinae / - ini Fleutiaux, 1922 as valid and favor choosing one of the senior sYnonYms as a substitute name. The relationships within the subfamilY Macraulacinae are poorlY understood presentlY (Muona 2023; Muona and Teräväinen 2020, 2023). Macraulacus Bonvouloir represents a small group of taxa, whereas Dromaeolus Kiesenwetter and Fornax Laporte represent major lineages in the subfamilY. Adults of the tYpe species of Dromaeolus, Eucnemis barnabita Villa, and its larva are well-known, but the tYpe species of Fornax, Fornax ruficollis Laporte, is a verY rare species with an unknown larva. It is doubtful wheth- er more than a minoritY of species presentlY placed in the genus Fornax are congeneric with the tYpe species (Otto 2020), whereas Dromaeolus species are widespread. This being the case, we propose using the senior subjective sYnonYms Dromaeolinae Beaulieu, 1919 and Dromaeolini Beaulieu, 1919 as the valid names for the junior subjective sYnonYms Macraulacinae / - ini. Fornacini Beaulieu, 1919 is available as a tribal name, if needed.	en	Muona, Jyrki, Otto, Robert L. (2024): Notes on Family-Group Names of False Click Beetles (Coleoptera: Eucnemidae).
