Body depressed, medium-sized, brightly colored; crown convex, coronal suture short; ocelli absent; middle length shorter than the width between two eyes; crown slightly wider than pronotum; face horizontal, frontoclypeus slightly concave in lateral view; clypellus broad at base Pronotum posterior margin nearly straight. Scutoscutellar sulcus clear and straight. Forewing middle widened, 4th apical cell not reaching apex. Hind wing, transparent, anal vein and CuA branched.

Abdominal apodemes well developed, extended to sternum V. Pygofer base broad, tapered distally, well sclerotized or not. Subgenital plate surpassing pygofer, broad at base, bent dorsad distally, several macrosetae along lateral margin near middle. Paramere straight, long. Connective lamellate, central lobe developed. Aedeagus structurally complex, dorsal apodeme developed, preatrium large, with paired processes partly or completely surrounding shaft, process usually with denticles; shaft tubular, with conspicuous microtrichia, gonopore apical.

Etymology: The new genus name is a Latinization of the English word “ uniform ” referring to the nearly uniform shape of species included in the new genus; gender is masculine.

Remarks: Among described genera of Dikraneurini, Uniformus most closely resembles Naratettix . These two genera are similar in aedeagus structure, both have a large preatrium with paired basal processes, but Uniformus differs in having the preatrium processes bent dorsad distally (bent ventrad in Naratettix); paramere thin and long (broad and shot in Naratettix); pygofer side triangular (oblong in Naratettix); and aedeagal shaft with conspicuous microtrichia (inconspicuous in Naratettix).

Distribution.
