03DA87ACFFE9FFB4FF46FA69FA832FC5.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Wenz (1938) erroneously considered Parmaphorella Strebel, 1907 preoccupied by Parmophorella Mathews, 1886, consequently proposing Parmophoridea as a replacement name for the former. This name was subsequently employed by several authors. However, and taking into account the differences in spelling of Parmaphorella and Parmophorella, such replacement is unnecessary (WoRMS Editorial board 2017).	en	Luca, Javier Di, Zelaya, Diego G. 03DA87ACFFE8FFB5FF46FDB3FAB82D98.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Five species of Puncturella were described / mentioned from the sub-Antarctic and Antarctic waters: P. noachina (Linnaeus, 1771), P. conica, P. cognata (Gould, 1852), P. falklandica (Adams, 1866) and P. spirigera Thiele, 1912. After studying the radula, Powell (1951) concluded that P. noachina and P. conica are two different entities, the former being a boreal species, wrongly previously mentioned from the sub-Antarctic waters. The validity of the other four species deserves further study, due to the discrepant opinions by different authors: Powell (1951) regarded P. conica, P. cognata and P. spirigera as valid species, with P. falklandica as a synonym of the former; alternatively, Reid & Osorio (2000) suggested that “ it is possible that only a single species may be involved ” among all these taxa, for which they used the name P. conica. This criterion is followed herein.	en	Luca, Javier Di, Zelaya, Diego G. (2019): Gastropods from the Burdwood Bank (southwestern Atlantic): an overview of species diversity. 03DA87ACFFE3FFBEFF46FD93FE102D9B.taxon	description	Description. Shell height to 15 mm (up to 19 mm according to Gould 1849); turritelliform, solid. Protoconch small, of 3.75 convex whorls, the last sculptured with closely arranged axial threads and faint spiral threads at the interspaces of the former. Teleoconch of up to 11 whorls, almost straight in outline; last whorl comprising about 40 % of total shell height. Suture impressed. Surface brownish, clearest at the base and the sutures; sculptured with 16 to 22 strong axial ribs and 3 spiral cords per whorl, which produce large beads at their intersections. An additional, lower, smooth cord appears at the suture and delimits the base, where 1 or 2 narrower cords are present. Aperture subquadrate, interior brownish; outer lip undulated by the spiral sculpture; columellar callus white, narrow; siphonal canal short, markedly oblique, moderately wide.	en	Luca, Javier Di, Zelaya, Diego G. 03DA87ACFFE3FFBEFF46FD93FE102D9B.taxon	discussion	Remarks. The material here examined clearly corresponds to the specimens figured by Gould (1856) as Cerithium caelatum. The species was frequently previously regarded as a synonym of Eumetula pulla (Philippi, 1845 a) (e. g., Strebel 1905 b; Powell 1951; Castellanos 1990), a species poorly known at present, and for which the type was never figured.	en	Luca, Javier Di, Zelaya, Diego G. 03DA87ACFFE4FFB9FF46FEB7FB562AB2.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Thiele (1912) described Proneptunea based on radular characters. Powell (1951) attributed to this genus species with relatively large protoconch of straight sides, and having the operculum with terminal nucleus. The material studied here agrees with the original description of Proneptunea minuta. However, contrary to other species assigned to this genus, the protoconch shows convex whorls and the operculum is absent.	en	Luca, Javier Di, Zelaya, Diego G. 03DA87ACFFF2FFACFF46F90CFC352808.taxon	discussion	Remarks. In shell morphology the material here examined closely resembles Toledonia elata, from which however it differs by having a straight (instead of angulated) columella.	en	Luca, Javier Di, Zelaya, Diego G. 03DA87ACFFF1FFACFF46FE4AFB142A8D.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Based on the study of shell morphology, Dell (1990) concluded that Toledonia limnaeaeformis (Smith, 1879) and T. perplexa are two different species, with only the latter present in Patagonian waters. The material studied here is similar to T. perplexa, although differs by having a lower spire. The significance of such differences could not be determined given the poor current state of knowledge of the group.	en	Luca, Javier Di, Zelaya, Diego G.
