Prigent.</p><p>Diagnosis. Paramere (outer paraphysis) deeply bifurcated from base, pointed on each apical parts: anterior branch shorter, expanded submedially; posterior branch submedially with 2 acute projections (Fig. 2); aedeagal median rod well expanded distally, with 2 pairs of acute projections medially and laterally (Fig. 2).</p><p>Description. (Supplementary) Male terminalia: Epandrium nearly entirely pubescent, with 4 setae near posterior margin on each body-side (Fig. 1). Surstylus with dense pubescence, and approximately slender 20 prensisetae on inner margin (Fig. 1). Sternite X (decasternum) absent. Hypandrium without lobe-like processes posterolaterally. Vertical process of gonopods with 2 pairs of small projections submedially and laterally (Fig. 2). Outer membranous tube of aedeagus developed (Fig. 2).</p><p>Measurements. BL = 2.70–2.73 mm (range in 2ɗ specimens); ThL = 1.26–1.30 mm; WL = 2.48–2.50 mm; WW = 1.20–1.25 mm. Kenya.</p><p>Remarks. This species certainly belongs to subgenus Allophortica, because it is very similar to P. A combination of the Greek words: melas and pous meaning black leg.</p><p>Diagnosis. Legs dark brown except for yellow on fore and hind knee joints and all tarsi; vertical process of gonopods sclerotized on postero-median and anterior margin, broadened distally, with 1 sclerotized process medially (Fig. 5); aedeagal median rod partly sclerotized, with membranous part bearing several minute warts (Fig. 5); outer membranous tube with numerous, small spine-like pieces (Fig. 5).</p><p>Description. Male: Eyes brown. Ocellar triangle black. Frons brown on upper 1/2, black on lower 1/2, with thick dense setae medially. Fronto-orbital plate silvery white. Pedicel and first flagellomere almost yellow; arista plumose, not expanded apically. Face yellow-brown on upper 1/2, dark brown on lower 1/2. Clypeus medially white-yellow, laterally black. Gena and postgena brown to dark brown. Palpus brown basally, grey-yellow distally. Thorax and scutellum orange-brown, with black patches and pollinose pattern. A combination of the Swahili words: macho and ruka, meaning eye flies, referring to the fly habit that usually flying around human eyes.</p><p>Diagnosis. Aedeagal median rod deeply bifurcated from subbasally: ventral one longer, strongly sclerotized, curved apically (Fig. 21); dorsal one slender, almost membranous, straight (Fig. 21); vertical process of gonopods: right, lateral lobe submedially with a strong projection, left, lateral lobe submedially with a small triangular projection (Figs 21, 22).</p><p>Description. Holotype ɗ (MNHN): KENYA - labeled “Kakamega equatorial forest, 11.x.2002, S. Prigent”. Etymology. A combination of the Latin words: unus and spina, referring to the aedeagal median rod ending in a single spine.</p><p>Diagnosis. Aedeagal median rod nearly straight, pointed apically (Fig. 26); paramere apically slightly sclerotized, pointed, basally expanded (Fig. 26); vertical process of gonopods: right and left, lateral lobe each with a less sclerotized projections (Fig. 26).</p><p>Description. Male: Eyes brown-red. Ocellar triangle black. Frons brown, with 2 rows of thick dense setae. Fronto-orbital plate yellow-brown. Pedicel and first flagellomere almost grey-yellow; arista plumose, expanded apically, without ventral branches (Fig. 23). Face yellow-brown on upper 1/2, dark brown on lower 1/2. Clypeus medially white-yellow, laterally black. Gena and postgena brown to dark brown. Palpus brown basally, grey-yellow distally. Thorax and scutellum orange-brown, with black patches and pollinose pattern. Legs yellow except for fore femur brownish; fore tarsomere V with 1 long seta apically. Abdominal tergites I+II yellow; the rest brown. Sternites III to VI slightly longer than respective width. Male terminalia: Epandrium mid-dorsally constricted, laterally broadened, triangularly protruded on ventral margin, with dense setae (Fig. 24). Surstylus with numerous setae and approximately 11 small prensisetae on ventral margin to inner surface (Fig. 25). Paramere apically pointed, not knobbed, basally broadened, with 4 sensilla (Fig. 26). Vertical process of gonopods strongly sclerotized, asymmetrical bifurcated to lateral lobes, which connected to base of gonopods by a pair of rod-like bridges; right and left, lateral lobe each with three projections (Fig. 26). Aedeagal median rod single, strongly sclerotized (Fig. 26).</p><p>Measurements. BL = 2.30 mm in holotype; ThL = 1.00 mm; WL = 1.95 mm; WW = 0.90 mm. A combination of the Latin words: curvus and spina, referring to the epandrium with 1 hooklike spine on anteroventral corner.</p><p>Diagnosis. Epandrium with 1 hook-like spine on anteroventral corner (Fig. 28); paramere apically with 1 small sclerotized projection (Fig. 29); aedeagal median rod strongly sclerotized, slender on basal half, expanded on distal half (Fig. 29); vertical process of gonopods strongly sclerotized, deeply, nearly symmetrically bifurcated from median (Fig. 29).</p><p>Description. Male: Eyes brown. Ocellar triangle brown to black. Frons brown on upper 1/2, black on lower 1/2, with thick dense setae medially. Fronto-orbital plate silvery white.
