03D9383AFF94080AFF3FFA70FDF7FE8D.taxon	materials_examined	Holotype: — BJFC-S 1376. Etymology: — quercicola, named after the host genus, Quercus. Host / Distribution: — from Quercus wutaishansea in China. Original description: — Sexual morph: Undetermined. Asexual morph: Conidiomata pseudostromatic, globose, pulvinate, occurring separately, dark orange, semi-immersed in bark, 400 – 600 μm high, 500 – 900 μm diam., with locules often convoluted, several ostioles (mostly 6 – 10). Conidiophores cylindrical, septate, branched, hyaline, smooth, (10 –) 15 – 30 (– 40) μm long, conidiogenous cells 2 – 3 μm wide. Conidia hyaline, cylindrical, aseptate, (3.2 –) 3.5 – 4 (– 5) μm × (1.4 –) 1.7 – 1.8 (– 2) μm, exuded as orange droplets. Cultures: — Culture growing on PDA originally white, becoming yellow, with massive sporulation, conidiomata 0.15 – 0.75 mm, covering a 70 mm diam. plate within 10 days at 25 ° C. Material examined: — CHINA, Shaanxi Province, Mountain Taibai, 34 ° 15 ’ 43.32 ” N, 107 ° 88 ’ 42.16 ” E, 2752 m asl, on stems of Quercus wutaishansea, Ning Jiang, 13 July 2017 (BJFC-S 1376, holotype), ex-type living culture, CFCC 52140. Shaanxi Province, Mountain Taibai, 34 ° 15 ’ 43.32 ” N, 107 ° 88 ’ 42.16 ” E, 2752 m asl, on stems of Quercus wutaishansea, Ning Jiang, 13 July 2017 (BJFC-S 1377, paratype), living culture, CFCC 52141. Notes: — Two isolates of C. quercicola cluster in a well-supported clade (MP / ML / BI = 87 / 100 / 1) and appeared closely related to C. quercus from Quercus aliena var. acuteserrata. Cryphonectria quercicola differs from C. quercus in shorter conidia (3.5 – 4 μm in C. quercicola vs. 4 – 5 μm in C. quercus) and conidiomata on PDA (yellow, gregarious conidiomata of C. quercicola vs. orange, scattered conidiomata of C. quercus).	en	Jiang, Ning, Fan, Xin-Lei, Yang, Qin, Du, Zhuo, Tian, Cheng-Ming (2018): Two novel species of Cryphonectria from Quercus in China. Host / Distribution: — from Quercus aliena var. acuteserrata in China. Original description: — Sexual morph: Undetermined. Asexual morph: Conidiomata pseudostromatic, pulvinate, occurring separately, orange to dark orange, semi-immersed in bark, 400 – 600 μm high, 800 – 1200 μm diam., with locules often convoluted, several ostioles (mostly 2 – 6). Conidiophores cylindrical, septate, branched, hyaline, smooth, (6.5 –) 12 – 20 (– 30) μm long, conidiogenous cells 1.5 – 2 μm wide. Conidia (3.2 –) 4 – 5 (– 5.4) μm × (1.4 –) 1.6 – 1.8 (– 2.1) μm, hyaline, cylindrical, aseptate, exuded as orange droplets. Cultures: — Culture growing on PDA originally white, becoming faint yellow, with massive sporulation, conidiomata 0.3 – 1.0 mm, covering a 70 mm diam. plate within 10 days at 25 ° C. Material examined: — CHINA, Shaanxi Province, Huoditang forest farm, 33 ° 18 ’ 22.30 ” N, 108 ° 35 ’ 45.26 ” E, 1820 m asl, on stems of Quercus aliena var. acuteserrata, Ning Jiang, 27 June 2017 (BJFC-S 1378, holotype), ex-type living culture, CFCC 52138. Notes: — Two isolates of Cryphonectria quercus cluster in a well-supported clade (MP / ML / BI = 86 / 100 / 1) sister to C. japonica. Cryphonectria quercus clade can be distinguished from C. japonica by owning ostioles of conidiomata in the bark, and never colors growth medium purple on MEA like C. japonica (Table 2).	en	Jiang, Ning, Fan, Xin-Lei, Yang, Qin, Du, Zhuo, Tian, Cheng-Ming (2018): Two novel species of Cryphonectria from Quercus in China.
