03E687F4AB33A65AACC3F9E9FB9DF84C.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Our specimen resembles specimens described by Gorochov (2013) by the stridulatory areas on both tegmina (Figs 1 B, 1 C) and abdominal apex (Figs 1 D – F). This represents a new locality record for this species outside its type locality; it is thus found in both lowland and highland forests.	en	Tan, Ming Kai, Liu, Chunxiang, Ingrisch, Sigfrid, Japir, Razy, Chung, Arthur Y. 03E687F4AB30A659ACC3FAAEFC80F865.taxon	discussion	Remarks. The available male specimen is similar to Elimaea (Bornelimaea) sympatrica media Gorochov, 2013 and Elimaea (Bornelimaea) levi Gorochov, 2009 (from Mount Trus Madi) by the mirror of its right tegmen being almost round at the basal end (Fig. 3 B), but differs from the latter species by the epiproct at apex more rounded. It is not as round as Elimaea (Bornelimaea) sympatrica sympatrica Gorochov, 2009 (Fig. 3 D). The specimen also has a subgenital plate as reported for Elimaea (Bornelimaea) sympatrica media, which is somewhat more widely notched (Fig. 3 F) than that in Elimaea (Bornelimaea) levi and more so than in Elimaea (Bornelimaea) sympatrica sympatrica. Our male specimen was found in Tenompok Forest Reserve, which is not far from the south of Mount Kinabalu where this species was first discovered.	en	Tan, Ming Kai, Liu, Chunxiang, Ingrisch, Sigfrid, Japir, Razy, Chung, Arthur Y. 03E687F4AB34A65CACC3FF6DFBECFE1C.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Our specimen resembles Elbenia? tenera from Mount Trus Madi (sensu Gorochov, 2023 c) by the shape of the male cercus and the extension of the male last abdominal tergite (Figs 6 B – D). Gorochov (2023 c), however, remarked doubts about the identification, owing to the close resemblance with Elbenia? borneensis Karny, 1926 from Sarawak, and that the emargination between the lobes of the male last abdominal tergite of Elbenia? tenera specimens collected from Mount Kinabalu can be variable.	en	Tan, Ming Kai, Liu, Chunxiang, Ingrisch, Sigfrid, Japir, Razy, Chung, Arthur Y. 03E687F4AB35A65CACC3FE20FE3FFB77.taxon	discussion	Remarks. We identified our female specimen by comparing with the images of the female holotype and original description by Karny (1926 a) using the following characters: the antennae dark brown with white rings, the anal area of the tegmen dark brown, just before the knees of all femora having a black dorsal incomplete ring; the female subgenital plate large and transverse, with four lobes along posterior margin, as well as the shape of ovipositor (Figs 8 A, 8 B). The male specimens resemble the female specimen by the colour patterns on the head, pronotum and those described above (Figs 9 A – C). The male specimens also resemble the male description by the shapes of the last abdominal tergite and subgenital plate with similar styli; although the cercus of our male specimen differ by being more slender than in Karny (1926 b) (Figs 8 C – E).	en	Tan, Ming Kai, Liu, Chunxiang, Ingrisch, Sigfrid, Japir, Razy, Chung, Arthur Y. 03E687F4AB28A641ACC3FB5FFE5BF8EB.taxon	discussion	Remarks. This species can be recognised by the shape of the male tenth abdominal tergite having a short and sharp tooth, smaller size, longer male subgenital plate with deeper and narrow emargination and longer male styli; and the presence of red ventral carinae on hind femur. Sympaestria lampra Hebard, 1922 reported by Tan & Wahab (2018 b) superficially resembles Sympaestria acutelobata more.	en	Tan, Ming Kai, Liu, Chunxiang, Ingrisch, Sigfrid, Japir, Razy, Chung, Arthur Y. 03E687F4AB2EA645ACC3FB75FCE5F9D1.taxon	discussion	Remarks. This species can be differentiated from the preceding congener by the presence of black sutural margin on the tegmen, the proximal part of tegmen being suffused with flecks of darker green, the male tenth abdominal tergite being truncated distad and by its larger size; while its male subgenital plate is smaller and tricarinate with distal margin V-emarginated and carries stout styli. Our two males exhibit distinct colour variations: SBH. 23.99 (Fig. 29) has near-unicolourous green tegmina (except for the black sutural margin and the darker green flecks at the proximal parts — more in line with the original description); whereas SBH. 23.45 (Fig. 30) has whitish veins which are particularly contrasting in proximal areas. However, with the exception of the stridulatory file of the left tegmen (ca. 104 teeth in SBH. 23.45 vs. 74 teeth in SBH. 23.99, Figs 31 A, 31 B), comparisons of the tenth abdominal tergite, cercus, subgenital plate and styli reveal no clear differences between the two specimens (Figs 31 C – F). It may be that the two male specimens may belong to two different species, but we tentatively lump them here until a revision of the genus is complete. Our specimens from Mount Trus Madi represents a new locality record for this species.	en	Tan, Ming Kai, Liu, Chunxiang, Ingrisch, Sigfrid, Japir, Razy, Chung, Arthur Y. C. 03E687F4AB2CA644ACC3F96DFBC4FD0A.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Our specimen resembles most Tapiena incisa Karny, 1923 previously described from Sarawak, particularly by the shape of the male cercus (Fig. 33 C). However, our male specimen also differs in an important character: the male tenth abdominal tergite is truncated excised in the middle (and not triangularly excised) (Fig. 33 D). This species is also similar to Tapiena paraincisa Tan & Wahab, 2018 from Brunei Darussalam (not too far from Mount Trus Madi) by its stout body, red (or purple) fore femora and tympanal area (Fig. 32) and stridulatory areas on both tegmina (Figs 33 A, 33 B), but also differs distinctly by the cercus at its apex broad and flattened (instead of tapering into two tooth-like processes) (Fig. 33 C), the tenth abdominal tergite being broadly and truncated and excised in middle (instead of narrowly excised) (Fig. 33 D) and the subgenital plate having much shorter apical lobes but longer styli (Fig. 33 E) (see also Tan & Wahab, 2018 a). Based on new material from Sabah, it appears that Tan et al. (2019) may have misidentified the Tapiena reported in Lungmanis (near Lahad Datu in Sabah).	en	Tan, Ming Kai, Liu, Chunxiang, Ingrisch, Sigfrid, Japir, Razy, Chung, Arthur Y. C. 03E687F4AB12A67FACC3FEDCFC97FBCD.taxon	etymology	Etymology. The species name refers to the male tenth abdominal tergite enlarged and extended and forming a plate, as well as the subgenital plate at apical half broadly widened; extensus = extended and widened in Latin.	en	Tan, Ming Kai, Liu, Chunxiang, Ingrisch, Sigfrid, Japir, Razy, Chung, Arthur Y. C. (2024): An account on the Phaneropterinae (Tettigonioidea: Tettigoniidae) from the highlands of western Sabah. 03E687F4AB12A67FACC3FEDCFC97FBCD.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. This new species can be characterised by a more elongated stridulatory area on the male left tegmen, a large plate-like apical extension of the male tenth abdominal tergite with two distinct spots in the middle, and the apex of its male cercus having an acute apical process pointing externally. The new species is most similar to Deflorita (Separita) decora (Gorochov, 2008) and Deflorita (Separita) separata Gorochov, 2023 from Sabah in the shape and colour of the tegmina (including the elongated stridulatory area), but differs by the shape of its male subgenital plate (distinctly widened and strongly emarginated until its basal third, instead of only feebly emarginated at the apical end) and the apex of the male cercus (with the acute flattened tooth pointing externally, instead of slightly bulbous just before its apex and the tooth pointing internally). Subgenus status. Following Gorochov’s (2023 b) revision of the Deflorita and the erection of new genera, we propose that the new species should be placed under the subgenus Separita Gorochov, 2023 considering these characters: pronotal disc with its anterior half having a pair of short dark longitudinal stripes along lateral margins; last abdominal tergite with a distinct posterio-median lobe; male subgenital plate with apical lobules directed backwards and slightly upwards, and with lamellar keel around all parts of posterio-median notch.	en	Tan, Ming Kai, Liu, Chunxiang, Ingrisch, Sigfrid, Japir, Razy, Chung, Arthur Y.
