The male of A. antoninae closely resembles A. terminata turkestana Kohl, 1906 (Figs 7–9) in having the glabrous propodeal enclosure, in the poorly represented appressed silvery setae on the body, and in having the pronotal collar and scutum finely transversely striate, but it is easily differentiated by the characteristically shaped penis valve (Figs 5–6, 9), and in having the clypeus with well-defined lateral angles (lateral angles absent in A. terminata turkestana) (Figs 3, 8). The female is unknown.</p><p>Description. Male. Body length 15 mm. Head. Clypeus elongate, apical margin moderately concave with well-defined lateral angle (Fig. 3). Clypeus, subantennal sclerite, and paraocular area with dense appressed silvery setae. Head with black erect setae. Vertex, occiput, and gena microsculptured, punctate; punctures 1–4 diameters apart. Mandible and palpi black. Mesosoma . Pronotum shiny, slightly prominent (Fig. 2), finely transversely striate, sparsely punctate. Scutum slightly shiny, finely transversely striate anteriorly, finely obliquely striate posteriorly. Scutellum longitudinally rugose. Mesopleuron and metapleuron dull, microsculptured, slightly rugose, with inconspicuous sparse appressed silvery setae (setae denser ventrally). Propodeal enclosure glabrous, dull, obliquely striate. Propodeum shiny, rugose, with inconspicuous spot of appressed silvery setae posteriorly. Tegula black and translucent posteriorly. Erect setae black. Wings hyaline; veins dark brown; costal vein black. Legs black with sparse appressed silvery setae. Claws without teeth. Metasoma. T1-T3 and S1-S3 (excluding petiole) red; petiole black; T4-T7 and S4-S7 black with blue reflexes. Penis valve characteristically shaped: massive, broad, and semicircularly convex dorsally (Figs 5–6).</p><p>Female. Unknown.</p><p>Material examined: Holotype. ♂, TАJIKISTАN. Ammophila kondarensis has the metasomal apex with blue reflexes, the propodeal enclosure glabrous laterally, and no supra-antennal lamellate projection. Both sexes closely resemble A. formosensis Tsuneki, 1971 in having the metasomal apex with blue reflexes, pale erect setae, and in extension of appressed silvery setae of mesopleuron, but differ by the absence of the supra-antennal lamellate projection and in having the propodeal enclosure glabrous laterally (projection present in A. formosensis, and the propodeal enclosure all covered with erect setae). The female of the new species differs in having the petiole reddish ( Ammophila formosensis has the petiole black), and the male differs in having the pronotum and scutum covered with appressed silvery setae moderately concealing the integument (appressed silvery setae of pronotum and scutum absent in A. formosensis).</p><p>Description. Clypeus, subantennal sclerite, paraocular area, and gena with appressed silvery setae. Vertex and occiput shiny, with scattered punctures. Erect setae pale. Supra-antennal lamellate projection absent. Mandible and palpi black. Pronotal collar slightly emarginated medially. Propodeal enclosure with pale erect setae and appressed silvery setae along midline, glabrous, shiny, and obliquely rugose laterally. Erect setae pale. Tegula black. Wings slightly smoked; veins dark brown to black. Legs black. Claws without teeth. Spines of legs black.</p><p>Male. Body length 18–23 mm. Head. Clypeus not elongate (Fig 15). Mesosoma (Figs 14, 16). Pronotal collar, pronotal lobe, scutum anteriorly, mesopleuron, metapleuron, and propodeum with dense appressed silvery setae moderately concealing integument. Scutum with spot of dense appressed silvery setae concealing integument posterolaterally. Metasoma. T1-T2 laterally, anterior ½ or ¼ of T3, S2-S3 red; petiole, dorsal stripe on T1-T2, posterior part of T3, T4-T7, and S4-S7 black with blue reflexes. Penis valve: Fig 17.</p><p>Female. Body length 20–26 mm. Head. Clypeus flattened, punctate (Fig 11). Mesosoma (Figs 10, 12, 13). Pronotum shiny, finely punctatorugose, with fine appressed silvery setae not concealing integument. Pronotal lobe with dense appressed silvery setae. Scutum shiny, transversely coarsely rugose and punctate, with fine, sparse appressed silvery setae laterally, and with spot of dense appressed silvery setae moderately concealing integument posterolaterally. Scutellum punctate anteriorly, longitudinally rugose posteriorly. Mesopleuron, metapleuron and propodeum punctatorugose with sparse appressed silvery setae anteriorly and with dense appressed silvery setae posteriorly. Metasoma. The female of A. nemkovi has the metasomal apex with no blue reflexes, a glabrous propodeal enclosure, partly red legs, and no supra-antennal lamellate projection. The female of the new species is similar to A. sareptana Kohl, 1884 in having the glabrous propodeal enclosure, partly red mandible, tegula, and petiole, but differs in having the clypeus with only fine sparse appressed silvery setae not concealing the integument (clypeus with dense appressed silvery setae concealing integument in A. sareptana), in having the mesosoma with appressed silvery setae only along the mesopleural suture, on the pronotal lobe and on the propodeum posterolaterally (mesopleuron entirely, pronotal lobe, pronotum dorsally, scutum and propodeum laterally with dense appressed silvery setae in A. sareptana), and in having partly red legs (legs black in A. sareptana). The male is unknown.</p><p>Description. Male. Unknown.</p><p>Female. Body length 18 mm. Head (Fig 19). Clypeus slightly elongated; apical margin slightly undulate, reddish-brown. Clypeal disk distinctly concave anteriorly, sparsely punctate (punctures 2–3 diameters apart), shiny. Clypeus with fine sparse appressed silvery setae (except glabrous on medial concavity and along apical margin). Subantennal sclerite and paraocular area with sparse, inconspicuous appressed silvery setae. Vertex and occiput slightly shiny, with scattered punctures. Erect setae pale. Supra-antennal lamellate projection absent. Mandible red in basal half. Palpi black. Mesosoma (Figs 18, 20). Pronotum glabrous, shiny, slightly microsculptured, with scattered inconspicuous punctures (punctures 3 and more diameters apart). Pronotal collar rounded dorsally. Pronotal lobe with lateral spot of dense appressed silvery setae. Scutum shiny, punctate anteriorly, slightly obliquely rugose and punctate posteriorly. Scutellum slightly shiny, punctate anteriorly, longitudinally rugose posteriorly. Mesopleuron rugose dorsoventrally and punctate, shiny, with stripe of appressed silvery setae along mesopleural suture. Metapleuron rugose, with sparse appressed silvery setae posteriorly. Propodeum punctatorugose with dense appressed silvery setae posteriorly. Propodeal enclosure glabrous. Erect setae sparse, pale. Tegula red. Wings slightly smoked; veins reddish-brown; costal vein and stigma dark-brown to black. Legs. Coxae black; trochanters, fore- and midfemur basally, midtarsus, and hindleg brownish; fore- and midfemur apically, fore- and midtibia, foretarsus and stripe on hindfemur dorsally red. Hindcoxa with dense appressed silvery setae dorsally. Claws without teeth. Metasoma. Ammophila yaroslavi has a glabrous propodeal enclosure, submarginal cell III petiolate, apex of the metasoma without blue reflexes, and legs red. The male differs from all species with a petiolate submarginal cell III in having red legs. The female is similar to A. cellularis Gussakovskij, 1930 in having the glabrous propodeal enclosure, submarginal cell III petiolate, and red legs and metasoma, but differs in having a predominately red mandible and a different shape of the apical margin of the clypeus, by the more developed appressed silvery setae on the body: the mesosoma entirely (except the propodeal enclosure and the medial part of the scutal disk) with dense appressed silvery setae concealing the integument ( Ammophila cellularis has the mesopleuron with a spot of dense appressed silvery setae and the propodeum with sparse appressed silvery setae, not concealing integument).</p><p>Description. Clypeus, subantennal sclerite, paraocular area, frons, and gena with dense appressed silvery setae. Vertex and occiput slightly shiny, with scattered punctures. Erect setae pale. Supra-antennal lamellate projection absent. Mesosoma entirely (except propodeal enclosure and scutal disk in female) with dense appressed silvery setae and pale erect setae. Propodeal enclosure glabrous, obliquely striate, with inconspicuous, scattered appressed silvery setae anteriorly. Tegula red. Wings hyaline; veins and stigma reddish. Submarginal cell III petiolate. Claws without teeth.</p><p>Male. Body length 12–13 mm. Head (Fig 22). Clypeus not elongate. Mandible red in basal half, brown apically; palpi and antennae black. Mesosoma (Figs 21, 23, 24). Pronotal collar rounded dorsally. Legs red (except coxae and hindtarsi), pruinose. Coxae black with dense appressed silvery setae. Hindtarsi brownish. Metasoma. Scape red ventrally, brown and with appressed silvery setae dorsally; pedicel black and reddish apically; flagellomeres black. Mesosoma (Figs 26, 28). Pronotum slightly emarginated medially.
