03E387C388213525FF20FCDA4252F797.taxon	etymology	Etymology: — The specific epithet “ swaticus ” refers to the locality “ Swat ” from where the holotype was collected. Diagnosis: — Gyroporus swaticus is characterized by a flat to concave and brown to orange-brown pileus, adnate hymenophore, broadly ellipsoid to elongate basidiospores (6.6 × 4.3 μm), broadly clavate basidia, mostly lageniform and fusiform, few narrowly utriform cheilocystidia, conical to broadly conical pleurocystidia, a trichodermium pileipellis, and a cutis stipitipellis. It differs from G. castaneus in having brown to orange-brown pileus, adnate hymenophore with pentagonal pores, cylindrical stipe, broadly ellipsoid to elongate basidiospores (6.6 × 4.3 μm), broadly clavate basidia, mostly lageniform and fusiform, few narrowly utriform cheilocystidia, and conical to broadly conical pleurocystidia, subfusiform to narrowly fusiform terminal cells of pileipellis and oblong to elongate, a few narrowly clavate terminal cells of trichoderm stipitipellis. Holotype: — PAKISTAN. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, Swat District, Aligrama Village, 34.80068 ° N, 72.31424 ° E, 908 m a. s. l. on soil under Quercus spp., 30 July 2023, Wajid Ali AS- 16 (LAH 38570!; ITS: PV 102406; LSU: PV 102405). Description: — Basidiomata small to medium-sized. Pileus 25 – 48 mm diam., initially flat becoming hemispheric to convex and finally concave at maturity, initially brown (7.5 YR 4 / 4 – 7.5 YR 4 / 6), fading upon age and becoming orange (7.5 YR 6 / 8) at maturity with a darker brown (7.5 YR 4 / 6) center, margins smooth and initially decurved becoming uplifted at maturity. Context white, unchanged upon bruising. Hymenophore poroid, adnate, smooth, pores 1 – 2 per mm, 1 – 3 mm deep, pentagonal, initially white becoming yellow (5 Y 8 / 6 – 5 Y 8 / 8) with age. Stipe 32 – 55 × 3 – 14 mm, central, initially decurved with a slightly wider base becoming cylindrical upon maturity, brittle, hollow, surface dry, concolorous to pileus. Basidiospores [40 / 2 / 2], (5.1 –) 6.0 – 7.2 (– 8.1) × (3.2 –) 3.7 – 5.1 (– 5.4) μm, avL × avW = 6.6 × 4.3 μm, Q = 1.2 – 1.9, Q av = 1.6, smooth, broadly ellipsoid to elongate. Basidia 17.1 – 20.63 × 10.86 – 14.86 µm, broadly clavate, 2 – 4 spored, mostly bispored, sterigmata almost 2 – 3 µm long. Basidioles 10.4 – 14.63 × 6.86 – 8.86 µm, narrowly clavate to clavate. Cheilocystidia 22.13 – 30.7 × 12.2 – 24.47 µm, mostly lageniform and fusiform, a few narrowly utriform. Pleurocystidia, small to big, ranging from 45.23 – 88.72 × 9.2 – 22.42 µm, conical to broadly conical. Cystidioles 8.21 – 10.32 × 6.16 – 8.17 µm, obovoid. Trama regular, hyphae 5.1 – 8.5 µm. Pileipellis trichoderm, hyphae 5 – 7 µm diam., terminal elements 29 – 80 × 8 – 19 µm, subfusiform to narrowly fusiform with obtuse and acute apex. Stipitipellis, a trichoderm, hyphae 4 – 6 µm diam., terminal elements 37 – 55 × 9 – 15 µm, oblong to elongate, a few narrowly clavate, obtuse apex.
