Prodorsum: length 126, width 96, height 56, sensillum 63, interlamellar setae 38, lamellar setae 40, rostral setae 61, exobothridial seta 35. Notogaster: length 169, width 152, height 91, c 1 30, c 2 43, e 1 73. Anogenital region: genital plates 30×30, anoadanal plate 45×25, distance between genital and anoadanal plates 65. Shape of body is slightly rectangular, not oval as other species of Apoplophora .

Integument. Colour light yellow. Body surface punctate.

Prodorsum without lateral carinae. Sensilla dilated in proximal part and attenuate, covered with less than 30 cilia. Rostral setae similar in length and shape as sensilla, interlamellar, lamellar and exobothridial setae similar in length, shorter than sensilla and rostral setae, more narrow and covered with cilia. Mutual distances of interlamellar, lamellar and rostral setae similar.

Notogaster with eight pairs of strong setae covered with more than 20 cilia. Four anterior setae similar to interlamellar, lamellar and exobothridial setae; four posterior setae similar to sensilla and rostral setae. Setae of row c remote from anterior border.

Ventral region with five pairs of setae covered with more than 20 pairs of cilia. One pair of anteromedian setae narrower than other ventral setae and situated far anteriorly from anoadanal plates. Other ventral setae similar in shape as sensilla. Each triangular genital plate divided by transversal furrow. Six pairs of smooth genital setae present; two longer siuated at the furrow, four minute in anterior part of plate. Two pairs of anal ciliated setae present. Anterior pair short and narrow, posterior pair similar in shape as sensilla.

Legs monodactylous.

Material examined. Holotype and one paratype: L-5.

Comparison. The new species is unique among the Apoplophora species by the heterotrichy of setae: sensilla, rostral setae, four posterior pairs of notogastral setae and four pairs of ventral setae are dilated proximally, attenuate; the interlamellar, lamellar, exobothridial, four anterior notogastral and one anterior pair of ventral setae are narrower. Moreover, triangular genital plates are divided by furrow and anoadanal plates with only two pairs of different in shape and length setae.

Etymology. The name alludes to very small size of body.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03EB8798FFEBA70E9ACAF163F0428D9D	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. Body surface densely dotted.

Prodorsum with a pair of long lateral carinae. Sensilla long, bacilliform, with fusiform, dilated head covered sparsely with spines. Setae erect (except small exobothridial), rough, interlamellar setae longer than lamellar and rostral setae. Mutual distance between lamellar setae slightly longer than that between rostral setae.

Notogaster with rather short setae (c 1/ c 1– d 1 = 05), covered with small spines in distal half, dorsal setae rather longer than other setae. Setae c 1 and c 2 remote from anterior border, setae c 3 near border.

Ventral region. Mentum of subcapitulum with setae h considerably longer than distance between them. Nine pairs of genital setae present, one pair in progenital position. Two pairs of aggenital setae present, situated perpendicularly. Three pairs of anal and three pairs of adanal setae present. Anal setae an 1 and an 2 shorter than adanal setae.

Legs. Tarsi of legs I bi- and legs II–IV triheterodactylous. Chaetome of legs (without tarsi): I 1–3 –3(2)–4(1), II 1–3 –3(1)–4(1), III 2–2 –2(1)–3(1), IV 2–1 –2–2(1).

Material examined. Holotype: L-5

Comparison. The new species is very similar to Acrotritia spiculifera (Mahunka, 1991) but is distinguishable by the presence of tarsi of legs I bi- and legs II-IV triheterodactylous (versus monodactylous) and presence of one pair of genital setae in progenital position (versus 3 pairs of setae). Second similar species Acrotritia paraspiculifera Niedbała, 2012 has two pairs genital setae in progenital position, variable number of claws of tarsi and distance between lamellar setae is distinctly greater than distance between rostral setae.

Etymology. The prefix proximus is Latin meaning “the nearest” and refers the similarity between the new species and the species Acrotritia spiculifera and Acrotritia paraspiculifera .

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03EB8798FFEAA7099ACAF354F0E08A3E	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. Integument of body, especially of notogaster and ventral plate, covered with small alveoli. Prodorsum surface smooth.

Prodorsum with long, thick lateral carinae, below them two narrow shorter carinae present. Bothridial scale above and posterior of bothridium. Sensilla long, setiform, narrower than prodorsal setae, covered unilaterally with 23 small cilia. Setae long, thick, rough, flagellate at tip, interlamellar setae shortest and less narrow than rostral and lamellar setae, distance between lamellar setae similar as that between interlamellar setae, distance between interlamellar and lamellar setae very short, similar to size of bothridium, exobothridial setae minute.

Notogaster with 14 pairs of relatively long (c = c 1– d 1), rigid, thick, rough setae, flagellate distally. Setae from c 1 to cp located in typical to Sabahtritia diagonal row. Five pairs of lyrifissures present.

Ventral region. Mentum of subcapitulum with setae h considerably longer than distance between them. One pair of deep hollows in anterior part of genital region, typical for genus. Genitoaggenital region with six pairs of minute, spinose setae in progenital position, four pairs of long, thick, rough setae, similar to notogastral setae located posterior to them in transversal row; three pairs of long, thick and rough anal setae and three pairs of adanal setae similar to notogastral setae, setae ad 3 removed from paraxial margin.

Legs heterotridactylous. Chaetome of legs (without tarsi): I 1–3 –5(2)–5(1), II 1–3 –4(1)–4(1), III 2–2 –3(1)–3(1), IV 2–1 –2(0)–3(1).

Material examined. Holotype: L-12; four paratypes: L-13

Comparison. The new species differs from all Sabahtritia species by the strongly dimorphic shape of genital setae, six pairs short spinose and four pairs long, thick and rough setae, thick and long lateral carinae of prodorsum.

Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the locality of this species Dong Nai Province.

Remark. Lions and Norton (1998) presented seven morphological characters distinguishing Synichotritia and Sabahtritia . However we consider that only two of them distinctly distinguish both genera: a pair of deep hollows in the anterior part of genital region and ventral plates broadest medially (typical for Sabahthitia).

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03EB8798FFECA70B9ACAF596F7D48EA7	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
