03F687B0FFA4FFA1FF59FB99FBF6FE82.taxon	description	Description. Hoberlandt 1957 gave a very detailed description, thus only measurements of the examined specimens are added here. He mentions also the “ metathoracic scent gland canals placed behind the middle coxae. ” As the presence of distinct scent gland canals was recognized by Usinger & Matsuda (1959) as a basic character for Mezirinae which they then used for the key distinguishing the subfamilies Mezirinae from Carventinae, Jarmilaia belongs to and is therefore transferred to the subfamily Mezirinae. Jarmilaia aeterna is the largest species of the genus and distinguished from both new species described below by the different shape of pronotum, the roundedly protruding pe-angles of deltg II – VI, and the bicoloured legs with a paler ring at the middle of the femora and on the basal half of the tibiae. In aeterna spiracle V is sublateral and slightly visible from above; its position in both other species is ventral. Measurements. ♂ from Pèrinet: Length 6.4 mm; head length / width 18 / 17; pronotum l / w 22 / 39; scutellum l / w 17 / 20, length of antennal segment I / II / III / IV = 16 / 7 / 27 / 15, ratio length of antennae / width of head 3.82; width of abdomen across tergite V 60. ♀♀ from Ranomafana and Andasibe: Length 6.9, 7.1 mm; head l / w 21 / 19, 21 / 18; pronotum l / w 24 / 45, 24 / 44; scutellum l / w 21 / 22, 23 / 23; length of antennal segments I / II / III / IV = 17 / 8 / 29 / 15, 18 / 9 / 31 / 16; ratio length of antennae / width of head 3.63, 4.1; width of abdomen across tergite V 70, 71.	en	Heiss, E. 03F687B0FFA3FFA5FF59FB4BFE0EF82A.taxon	materials_examined	Type species: Bergrothista villiersi Kiritshenko 1959 Hoberlandt 1957 erected the genus Jarmilaia for two species: aeterna and mollis, the first being the type species of the genus. The genus Bergrothista was erected by Kirithsenko 1959 also for two species: villiersi and nigricornis, villiersi being the type species of this genus. When Hoberlandt published additional notes on Aradidae from Madagascar in 1963 he had already seen Kirithenko’s types and transferred subsequently his Jarmilaia mollis to Bergrothista and synonymised nigricornis with mollis. Examination of new material now available and comparison with specimens identified by Hoberlandt brought to light, that both species then assigned to Bergrothista possess distinct metathoracic scent gland canals thus belonging to the subfamily Mezirinae rather than Carventinae where they were placed by Hoberlandt and subsequently by Kormilev & Froeschner 1987. They are now assigned to Mezirinae. However another important character is not shared by these species: B. villiersi shows a distinct stridulation structure on vltg III with a counterpart structure on inner face of posterior femora which is completely lacking in B. mollis. Therefore it is proposed to erect a new genus Parabergrothista n. gen. to accommodate mollis, which is described below. Already Usinger & Matsuda 1959 recognized the taxonomic importance of stridulatory structures in Aradidae and erected new genera for such species sharing a particular type e. g. Strigocoris, Pictinus, Rossius.	en	Heiss, E. (2010): New taxa and systematic assignments of Madagascan Aradidae (Hemiptera: Heteroptera). Zootaxa 2728: 23-38

03F687B0FFAEFFA8FF59FDCAFC42FCB5.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. This is a species of habitus and general body structures as Bergrothista; however, they lack the characteristic stridulatory structure of the latter in both sexes, for which a new genus is erected. The presence of a distinct metathoracic scent gland canal indicates that also this genus should be placed in the subfamily Mezirinae. Parabergrothista n. gen. resembles also Jarmilaia in general appearance and shares the lack of stridulatory structure but is distinguished by much shorter antennae particularly segment I, by the dark coloured legs and antennae and by the thin collar.	en	Heiss, E. 03F687B0FFA9FFAEFF59FA3DFE5FF84A.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. This genus is erected for N. rotundipennis which shares similar structures of Bergrothista (head, antennae) but differs from this by its smaller size, ovate widely rounded abdomen, anterolateral angles of pronotum produced beyond collar; and by its granular surface of the body, its appendices without flat scales; and by the stridulatory file on vltg III which is larger and its surface finely striate without pegs, extending from the anterolateral angle to inner posterior angle of vltg III. Because the metathoracic scent gland canal is also well developed and visible, Neobergrothista n. gen should be placed in Mezirinae.	en	Heiss, E.
