Minas Gerais: Ouro Branco, Serra de Ouro Branco, 17 September 1990, fl., Alves 1397 (holotype: RB 542704 photo!; isotype: RB 211011 photo!). Notes: — Epidendrum campestre was described by Lindley (1844) based on a collection series of Gardner (Gardner 5207) which includes nine specimens distributed in European herbaria. However, Lindley (1844) did not indicate which was the holotype, as was customary at the time. Lindley’s main herbarium is currently at K (Stafleu & Cowan 1976), but we found two specimens there. We choose a single specimen to serve as the lectotype, we selected K 000880347 instead of K 000880343 because it includes two inflorescences with well-preserved flowers. The other eight specimens of the series are designated as isolectotypes.	en	Pessoa, Edlley M., Zocal, Kelvin H., Feitoza, Lucas H. Notes: — Epidendrum cinnabarinum was collected by Salzmann, and the species name was atributed to him by Lindley (1831), who formally described the species. We found 12 specimens of Salzmann’s, four at MPU, two at K, one at E, one at FI, one at G, one at LE, one at P, and one at TUB. Lindley (1831) did not indicate which represents the holotype, and thus, we choose a single specimen to serve as the lectotype following the Code. As Lindley’s main herbarium is currently at K (Stafleu & Cowan 1976), we choose K 000293528 instead of K 000293553 because it has more flowers. It is important to highlight that the herbarium sheet that includes K 000293528 also has two other specimens that are not types, K 000583725 and K 000583726.	en	Pessoa, Edlley M., Zocal, Kelvin H., Feitoza, Lucas H. 03FD8061425CFFA5FF1BFD33FD0BF8C9.taxon	materials_examined	Type: — BRAZIL. Rio de Janeiro: Próximo de Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, Nov, fl., Barbosa Rodrigues s. n. (lost). Lectotype designated here: Barbosa Rodrigues illustration in Iconographie des orchideés du Brésil 1: t. 19 housed in the Library of the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden, cited as “ Tab. 183 ” in Barbosa Rodrigues (1877: 55). Notes: Epidendrum cooperianum was described by Bateman (1867), but the collector is unknown. Bateman was a British horticulturist who sent collectors to the Neotropics to collect living orchids (Stafleu & Cowan 1976). He named E. cooperianum after Mr. Cooper, an orchid enthusiast who owned Alpha House. Bateman’s type specimens are supposed to be at K, but we did not find them there or other herbaria. It is not uncommon to find examples of names published at the XIX century that were based on living material with no herbarium specimen (Saka et al. 2017), and it seems to be the case of E. cooperianum. Following the Code, the illustration provided in the protologue (Bateman 1867, t. 5654), currently housed at the Library of Royal Botanic Garden of Kew, is designated as the lectotype. However, an epitype is still necessary due the weird colour of the illustration (Art. 9.9 of the Code). We found three adequate specimens and propose the material collected by Lindeman & Barcia (n. 6429) in Rio de Janeiro, deposited in SP in Brazil, as epitype. Ten years after publication of E. cooperianum, Barbosa Rodrigues (1877) described E. revolutum, also based in a material from Rio de Janeiro State. Today, E. revolutum is considered a heterotypic synonym of E. cooperianum (Pessoa 2020). Unfortunately, the types of Barbosa Rodrigues were likely destroyed by a flood (Sprunger et al. 1996). The illustration provided in the protologue (Barbosa Rodrigues, 1877, tab. 19), currently housed at the Barbosa Rodrigues Library of the Jardim Botânico do Rio de Janeiro (BRL / JBRJ) as “ tab. 183 ”, is designated as the lectotype. Similarly, Barbosa Rodrigues (1881) described E. longispathum from Minas Gerais, now considered another heterotypic synonym of E. cooperianum (Pessoa 2020). The lectotype is indicated as the illustration in the protologue (Barbosa Rodrigues, 1877, tab. 21), also housed at BRL / JBRJ as “ tab. 378 ”.	en	Pessoa, Edlley M., Zocal, Kelvin H., Feitoza, Lucas H. Lectotype designated here: illustration in Schlechter (1915), Orchis. Monatsschrift der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Orchideenkunde 9: “ Tab 1: 8 – 13 ’. Notes: Epidendrum goebelii was based in a material collected in Brazil by Goebel without precise location and flowered at Munich (Nymphenburg) (Schlechter 1915). The type specimen was destroyed in B during WWII (Merrill 1943), and the species was never collected again, indicating it is probably extinct according IUCN (2024). The illustration provided in the protologue (Schlechter 1915, tab. 11, image 8013) is designated as the lectotype.	en	Pessoa, Edlley M., Zocal, Kelvin H., Feitoza, Lucas H. Notes: Barbosa Rodrigues described E. henschenii based on material collected by Regnell. We were able to find four specimens belonging to Regnell, three at S (S 19 - 31771, S 19 - 31752, S 19 - 31772) and one in P (P 00477919). Barbosa Rodrigues (1881) clearly stated that the type specimen was in the Regnellian Herbarium, currently S (Santos 2016, Stafleu & Cowan 1976). We choose S 08 - 3348 as the lectotype due to handwritten notes and more flowers when compared with the other specimens at S; the sheet from P and the other two from S are designated as isolectotypes. Forty years after the description of E. henschenii, Kraenzlin described E. brevicolle based on material collected by Dúsen. Today, this is species is considered a heterotypic synonym of E. henschenii (Pessoa 2020). Kraenzlin did not indicate in the protologue the herbarium where the type was deposited. Although the main herbarium of Kraenzlin was acquired by B (Stafleu & Cowan 1976) and consequently destroyed during WWII (Merril 1943), we found three specimens of Dúsen material, two at S (S 08 - 3348, S 08 - 3349) and one at HBG (HBG 501631). We selected S 08 - 3348 as lectotype because it bears more flowers and fruits than the other specimens.	en	Pessoa, Edlley M., Zocal, Kelvin H., Feitoza, Lucas H. Notes: — Epidendrum martianum was described by Lindley (1840) based on a single specimen collected by Martius, which is currently at M (holotype). In the same protologue, Lindley (1840) described E. setiferum based on collections by Martius and Gomes, without indicating one specimen as the type, as usual for the time. Today, E. setiferum is considered a heterotypic synonym of E. martianum (Pessoa 2020). We could not find Gomes’ specimens, but we found Martius’ collection at M. It is thus indicated as the lectotype. More recently, Epidendrum diamantinense was described by Lacerda & Castro (2012) based on a specimen from Minas Gerais, for which the holotype is at BHCB; it is currently considered a heterotypic synonym of E. martianum as well (Pessoa 2020).	en	Pessoa, Edlley M., Zocal, Kelvin H., Feitoza, Lucas H.
