In male, ninth abdominal tergite enlarged, cuculli-form, posterior area obviously divided into 2 spine-shaped lobes, distinctly curved ventrad, emargination between them deep and triangular; subgenital plate without styli, posterior margin with a deep and wide concavity and with apices digitate laterally; cerci short. In female, subgenital plate broad and long.

Discussion. Liu & Yin (2002) were firstly reported the Apotrechus to the Chinese fauna, and the latter authors (Liu & Bi, 2008; Liu & al., 2010 a; Liu & Shi, 2012; Guo & Shi, 2012; Bian & al., 2014; Liu et al., 2015a) described 7 Chinese species under Apotrechus . Cadena-Castañeda (2019) erected the Bianigryllacris including all the Chinese species of Apotrechus . The genus have obviously difference from Apotrechus in: posterior margin of male ninth abdominal tergite divided into 2 spine-shape lobes, which directing ventrad, between them triangular concave; posterior margin of male subgenital plate with a deep concavity, the lateral lobes digitate apically; female subgenital plate obviously sclerotised without membranous area. In Apotrechus, male ninth abdominal tergite bulbate, apex weakly divided, posterior margin of male subgenital plate projected in the middle, the lateral lobes with or without tubercles apically; female subgenital plate very soft, median area with a soft area.

Species included. Frons smooth or with inconspicuous spots; fastigium verticis wider than scape. Tegmina reduced, at least longer than 2.0 mm, usually much longer than pronotum but not reaching apices of hind femora, black or yellowish brown, veins reduced, blackish or darker than the cells. Hind wings reduced or absent, hyaline or a little smoky. Male ninth abdominal tergite obviously projecting backwards, with 1 pair of heavily sclerotized crossed hooks; bases of hooks with movable rounded convexities, apex acute; cerci long. Subgenital plate broad, subapical area with normal and clearly developed styli. Female copulatory depressions situated on the apical area of seventh abdominal sternite. Apical area of subgenital plate not curved forward and downward.

Species included. Up to now, the genus included twenty two species. The most are recorded from Indonesia (Sumatra and Java) and Malaysia, and two of which are distributed in Southwestern China.

Discussion. Based on specimens from Thailand, Sumatra, Vietnam and Malaysia, Gorochov (2003) thought the generic species is without femoral-abdominal stridulatory complex, but we examined one Malaysian specimen from Malaysia and found the tegmina and ninth abdominal tergite is very similar to the other species of Larnaca except the presence of stridulatory area on second and third abdominal tergites.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03FB87C3FF85FFE9FF6AFC75FC7B85F6	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
