CB, Danyang-gun, Yeongchun-myeon, Namcheon-ri, Namcheon, Sobaeksan (Mt.), 7.xi.2014: 3♂ 3♀ (KUEM) .

Distribution. This Far East subspecies of L. fusca is known from China (described from eastern Qinghai Province of western China on the Tibetan Plateau (Yang et al. 2014)) and specimens illustrated herein are from the vicinity of Beijing, northeastern China), Korean Peninsula, and the Russian Far East (confirmed by Valentina Teslenko). Western boundary of its distribution needs to be clarified. Mongolian specimen illustrated in Judson & Nelson (2012) seem to be L. fusca fusca (Linnaeus, 1758) . Leuctra f. tergostyla is new for North Korea (Fig. 27).

Remarks. The Korean and Chinese specimens exhibit slight morphological differences that distinguish them from the West Palaearctic subspecies. The male has larger and more erect tergal projections on tergum VI, larger and undivided mesal sclerites on terga VIII–IX and the base of paraproct is smaller and less swollen in lateral view (Figs. 1–2). The female has more rounded lobes of the subgenital plate (Fig. 3), whereas the sclerotized ridge between the lobes is wider than that of L. f. fusca but not as wide as of L. f. latior Berthélemy & Dia, 1982. On the basis of Wu’s original description and figures (Wu 1973), his species L. tergostyla Wu, 1973 is conspecific with L. fusca . Unfortunately, the types are considered lost, but the name is available. Molecular studies showed large genetic variability of West Palaearctic populations of L. fusca (Boumans & Tierno de Figueroa 2016), thus, it seems to be more appropriate to use the name L. tergostyla to distinguish a Far Eastern subspecies rather than in synonymy with L. f. fusca .

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/038F87C8FFB7FFDFFF1637ECFE41FC54	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. Tergum X with strong and curved antecosta, connected to a distinct median furrow that reaches the posterior edge; posterior edge with two rounded lobes separated by an U-shaped notch as wide as one third segment's width, lobes not raised in lateral view. Epiproct small, with swollen base and curved, hook-like apex. Sternum IX with large ventral lobe, fully covered by strong setae. Subgenital plate fully separated from other sclerites, anterior edge rounded. Posterior portion deeply divided into thin lateral lobes, surrounding the subanal probe that rests within the U-shaped notch. Subanal probe formed from the paraprocts is long and slender, with U-shaped base and stem strongly sclerotized all along to the apical lobes but with a light ventral stripe. The apex bears one pair of short ventral lobes and much larger, weakly divided dorsal lobes; all are covered with small, triangular scales. The ventral lobes are globular, not extending laterally, positioned more apically than the origin of the dorsal lobe but by far not reaching the tip; length of dorsal lobe is about one third of the length of stem after its sharp forward bend, basal portion weakly subdivided, slightly expanding laterad, the posterior portion of the lobe covers the sclerotized tip. Cercus slender, basal portion extended in narrow rods connected to base of the subanal probe, apex slightly bulging beneath the two apical teeth; the dorsal tooth is larger, both downcurved and slightly point inwards, apical wart indistinct.

Female abdomen (Fig. 10): Terga I–IX membranous but with transverse row of four pigmented spots; a medial sclerotized patch also present on tergum IX. Tergum X fully sclerotized. Sterna I–VI simple. Sternum VII rectangular and unmodified, not fused to sternum VIII. Subgenital plate large, base partly hidden beneath sternum VII and subdivided into three pigmented areas by two pale triangles. Caudally diverging strongly and ending in rounded lobes weakly separated by a wide shallow indentation; the lobes are overhang sternum IX, greatest width of plate equals two thirds of segment's width. The plate is evenly brown, bears dense and long setae, it is almost touching but not fused with lateral edges of tergum. Sternum IX simple, sternum X interrupted in the medial fourth. Paraproct and cercus simple.

Affinities. The species belongs to the P. occidentalis species group sensu Stark & Kyzar (2001), and is closely related to P. malaisei, other Korean endemic of this Transpacific group. The males can be distinguished by the apex of subanal probe and posterior lobes of tergum X: P. malaisei has large and laterally expanded ventral lobes and a rather small dorsal lobe of the apex of subanal probe, whereas the dorsal lobe of P. paramalaisei is much larger than the small ventral lobes (Figs. 6–7). The posterior lobes of tergum X are more pronounced in P. malaisei with their inner edges nearly parallel to the segment's lateral edges, while the inner edge evenly curves into the caudal notch in P. paramalaisei (Figs. 8–9). The female is indistinguishable from the other Asian species of the P. occidentalis group.

Distribution. Known only from northern Sobaek Mountain Ranges of South Korea (Fig. 31).

Etymology. The name paramalaisei refers to the morphological similarity with the other South Korean endemic Paraleuctra species, P. malaisei .

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/038F87C8FFB1FFDAFF163795FDE8FAB4	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. Male: Tergum IX without distinct posteromedial lobe, tergum X without knobs or spines. Epiproct with wide and undivided base, apical half abruptly bent foreward, dorsal surface elevated and with acute, downcurved tip. Cercus short and rounded. Female: Sternum VII rectangular, with a small hemispherical membranous area posteromedially, not fused to sternum VIII. Median sclerites on sternum VIII are with dark brown inner keel; rest of the sclerites dark brown, longer than the keel, the sclerites are hardly wider than long. Further two pairs of sclerites present at the lateral edges of median sclerites, and at the posterolateral edge of the segment.

Description of the male. Small sized species, macropterous. Forewing length: 4.4–6.2 mm, body length: 4.5– 5.3 mm. Head dark brown with distinct rugosities; antennae brown, palpi pale. Pronotum paler than head, one and half times longer than wide, narrower than head; rugosities distinct. Meso- and metanotum brown, with longitudinally arranged dark brown patches; meso- and metathoracic basisterna with a pair of longitudinal dark stripes. Legs uniformly brown; wings hyaline, venation brown. Setation generally short.

Male abdomen (Figs. 23–25): Antecosta interrupted on terga I–III, entire on terga IV–IX, terga I–II with a median membranous field. Tergum IX with moderately curved antecosta, posteromedial portion lacks lobe or has only a vestigial one. Integument between terga IX–X with dense anterior field of setae, touching the not fully divided posterior field of shorter setae. Tergum X lacks knobs or spines, antecosta of the hemiterga more convex and with small anterior sclerite, posteromedial paired sclerites large. Epiproct with wide, undivided base; the apical half is abruptly bent foreward and robust, bears a membranous caudal callus with setae, dorsal surface is elevated in midlength of the apical half, the tip is downcurved, acute. Paraprocts fused into a wide, long lobe that is lightly sclerotized at its tip. Cercus short and rounded, bears small basodorsal lobe, apical wart distinct. Sterna I–VIII simple, sternum IX bears an oval ventral lobe that is wider than long, prolonged apex abruptly divided from the base of the sternum, moderately long.

Affinities: Discussed under the closely related P. koreana .

Distribution.
