Remarks: The morphological features (Di Sabatino et al. 2003) of T. cf. jasminae and its relative abundance in interstitial waters (compared with abundance in Iranian superficial waters, see: Pesic et al. 2004 a) seem to indicate that the species is hyporheophilic. 038A87A9FFA8FFFDE107FDD3FC693F29.taxon	description	(Figs. 1 – 6) Material examined: IR 24 Kerman Province, stream in Simk village (30 ° 30 ' N 57 ° 12 ' E), 2370 m asl., 27.07.2003, leg. Pesic (0 / 1 / 0). Description: Female: Idiosoma L / W 806 / 594; Dgl 3 not fused with postoc and D 1; coxal field L 285; Cx 3 W 362; Cx 1 + 2 mL 78; IL 5 dL 169, H 35, dL / H ratio 4.83; S 1 L 62, L / W ratio 10.6, S 2 L 71, L / W ratio 13.7, distance between sword setae 3, L ratio S 1 / 2 0.87; IL 6 L 146, H 28, dL / H ratio 5.2; L ratio IL 5 / 6 1.16; genital field L / W 177 / 144, Ac 1 3 27, 24, 24; chelicera total L 291; palp total L 459, dL and relative L (in parentheses given as % of total length): P 1 34 (7), P 2 116 (25), P 3 109 (24), P 4 150 (33), P 5 50 (11); L ratio P 2 / 4 0.77. Discussion: The Iranian specimen shows a general conformity with Atractides denticulatus in the combination of a striated integument, presence of muscle attachment sclerites, sclerotized excretory pore, fused Vgl 1 / 2, similar morphology of IL 5 and 6 (Fig. 3), IVL 5 with a long, fine, distal hair (Fig. 6), and the shape of palp with denticulation on ventral surface of P 2 and P 3. However, clear morphological differences can be observed between specimens from Iran and Central Europe (Gerecke 2003). In the specimen from Simk a Dgl 3 is not fused with postoc and D 1 (Fig. 1), the gonopore is more elongated (Fig. 2), and the ventral surface of P 2 and P 3 has a weaker denticulation (Figs. 4, 5). Specimens described from Bulgaria (Petrova 1968), based on the shape and arrangement of dorsal sclerites (Dgl 3 not fused with postoc and D 1), more closely resemble the specimens from Iran than the orginal description. According to Gerecke (2003) future investigations on the geographical variation in A. denticulatus could prove that this taxon represents a species complex. This is the first record from Iran. Distribution: Central and southeast Europe, England, Iran.	en	Pesic, Vladimir, Saboori, Alireza, Asadi, Mahdieh, Vafaei, Reza (2005): Water mites (Acari: Hydrachnidia) from interstitial waters of Iran, with the description of one new species. 038A87A9FFAEFFF8E107FE51FC3738D4.taxon	description	(Figs. 7 – 13) Type series: Holotype: male dissected and slide mounted in Hoyer's fluid; IR 48: Tehran Province, Elburs Mt., Shahrestanak River, approximately 2000 m asl., 18.08.2003, leg. Pesic & Saboori. Diagnosis. Male (female unknown): ventral margin of IVL 4 with two long setae; setae at the ventral margin of IVL 5 distant, a thickened, wavyproximal seta orginating on a ventroproximal projection of IVL 5, the distal swordshaped seta exceeding distal margin of IVL 5; ventral side of IL 5 with one seta. Description: Male: Dorsal and ventral shields present; dorsal shield bearing nine pairs of glandularia (Fig. 7); dorsal shield L 335, W 195; ventral shield (Fig. 8) L 373, W 241; extensions at insertions of the fourth legs pointed, extending laterally to the body proper; two rows of acetabula extending along sides of body from gonopore; excretory pore located near posterior end of dorsal shield slightly anterior to the gonopore; gnathosoma L 86; palp (Fig. 9 10): total L 225, dL and relative L (in parentheses given as % of total length): P 1 19 (8.4), P 2 62 (27.6), P 3 32 (14.2), P 4 75 (33.3), P 5 37 (16.4); ventral side of P 2 with one large tubercle, and three or four smaller tubercles which are more anteriorly placed; dorsal lengths (segments 1 6 IVL): 94, 96, 69, 107, 84, 93; ventral margin of IVL 4 with two long setae; IVL 5 with particular modifications in shape and setation as depicted in the figures 11 12 and described in the diagnosis, the proximal seta, L / W 58 / 21, the distal seta, L / W 52 / 10; ventral side of IL 5 with one sword like seta (Fig. 13). Female: unknown. Discussion: Kongsbergia persica sp. nov. seems very closely related to K. ruttneri Walter, 1930, and K. dmotasi Motas, Tanasachi & Orghidan, 1958. Kongsbergia persica sp. nov. can easily be distingushed from both of these species by the presence of a more elongated wavyproximal seta at the ventral margin of IVL 5 (more roundish in K. ruttneri (see: Walter 1930; Motas et al. 1947; Schwoerbel 1962); clubshaped and shorter in K. dmotasi (see: Motas et al. 1958). Further differences are found in a shorter swordshaped seta at the ventral margin of IVL 5 (not exceeding distal margins of IVL 5) and presence of two setae at the ventral margin of IL 5 in K. ruttneri (see: Schwoerbel 1962); ventral margin of IVL 5 with proximal and distal setae close to each other and a much larger palp (palp total L 328) in K. dmotasi (measurement in parentheses, from Motas et al. 1958). Etymology: The species is named for its occurrence in Iran (Persia). Biology: As suggested by the single known record, K. persica sp. nov. is probably a hyporheobiontic species. Distribution: Iran, only known from the locus typicus.	en	Pesic, Vladimir, Saboori, Alireza, Asadi, Mahdieh, Vafaei, Reza (2005): Water mites (Acari: Hydrachnidia) from interstitial waters of Iran, with the description of one new species. 038A87A9FFACFFF9E107FB74FEB93FA4.taxon	description	(Figs. 14 – 16) Material examined: IR 52 Markazi Province, Pole Doab stream 15 km after Shahzand city, 21.07.2003, leg. Pesic (0 / 0 / 2). Remarks: The Iranian deutonymphs show a general conformity with the Central European specimens (K. Viets 1955). Differences are found in the shape of posterior margin of Cx 1 + 2 which is more rounded in our specimens (Fig. 14), while it is more pointed in specimens from Central Europe. However, the attribution of the Iranian populations to the species should be verified by studies on adult specimens. Figures 14 16 show some morphological details of the deutonymph from Markazi Province which represent the first record of the species in the study area.
