0397CD04834FFF8F49E6FF1AFD4BFE2E.taxon	description	Taxonomy: The holotype of Xyleborus osumiensis was examined at NMNH by SMS and was compared to photos of the X. metanepotulus holotype (TARI). The two specimens were found to be conspecific. Xyleborus metanepotulus is here placed in synonymy. The species has the generic characters of Ambrosiophilus Hulcr and Cognato, 2009, and is here transferred to that genus.	en	Smith, Sarah M., Beaver, Roger A., Cognato, Anthony I. 0397CD04834FFF8F49E6FBD8FB5AF8B1.taxon	description	Anisandrus swainei Drake, 1921: 203. Synonymy: Wood, 1957: 403. Bostrichus tachygraphus Sahlberg, 1834: 52. Synonymy: Eichhoff, 1876: 378. Bostrichus thoracicus Panzer, 1793: 34. Synonymy: Hagedorn, 1910: 102. Taxonomy: Niisima (1909) described X. ishidai from three syntype specimens, one from Jozankei, and two from Sapporo. The Sapporo specimens were not located in Niisima’s collection at NIAES. To ensure correct and consistent application of the name, we here designate the female specimen from Jozankei as the lectotype of Xyleborus ishidai Niisima. The lectotype is labeled “ Jozan [handwritten] Ishida [typed] \ 23. V. 1904 [handwritten] \ Xyleborus ishidai Niis (sp. n.) (XVI- 1 - 099) [handwritten] nach Y. Niijima [typed] \ [red label] LECTOTYPE Xyleborus ishidai Niisima [typed] ”. The lectotype and two non-type specimens of Xyleborus ishidai (NIAES) were examined and found to be conspecific with specimens of A. dispar in NMNH, NHMW and MSUC.	en	Smith, Sarah M., Beaver, Roger A., Cognato, Anthony I. 0397CD04834EFF8E49E6FF1AFEE9FE25.taxon	description	Taxonomy: This species was previously considered a synonym of A. malayensis (Schedl, 1954) by Beaver et al. (2008). The lectotype of Xyleborus yakushimanus was examined by SMS and AIC in NMNH and is conspecific with specimens collected from northern Vietnam. These Vietnamese specimens were then compared to the lectotype and three paralectotypes of X. malayensis (NHMW), and were found to represent a distinct but closely related species.	en	Smith, Sarah M., Beaver, Roger A., Cognato, Anthony I. 0397CD048348FF8849E6FE3FFEE6FCCE.taxon	description	Taxonomy: Syntypes of Xyleborus calamoides (NMNH) were examined by SMS. The specimens have an obliquely truncate declivity which is generally associated with Amasa. However, multiple Asian xyleborine genera have at least one species with a truncate declivity. The species is transferred to Microperus Wood, 1980 because of the following characters: pronotum type 2 (viewed dorsally), antennal club type 3, scutellum not visible and lack of mycangial tufts.	en	Smith, Sarah M., Beaver, Roger A., Cognato, Anthony I. 0397CD048345FF8549E6FEE2FD2AFCDA.taxon	description	Taxonomy: The type specimen of Xyleborus todo was not located. The very detailed description and figures, and Kono’s (1938) notes on its biological habits were examined. All were conspecific to the morphology (Blandford 1894; Niisima 1909) and habits (Niisima 1909; Murayama 1955; Mandelshtam 2006) reported for X. seriatus. Xyleborus todo is here placed in synonymy.	en	Smith, Sarah M., Beaver, Roger A., Cognato, Anthony I.
