Male. Body medium-sized; surace finely pubescent. Head of subequal width with anterior margin of pronotum; eyes slightly bulging and ovoid. Median ocellus round, slightly depressed; lateral ocelli absent. Frontal rostrum slightly narrower than scapus (9: 10). Pronotum widened posteriorly, anterior margin straight, posterior margin slightly protuberant in middle, lateral margins rounded bent into paranota; lateral lobes semicircular. Metanotal gland developed, anterior half broader than posterior half, internal surface of gland covered with long hairs (Fig. 1), with bulging and elevated margins around central concavity, posterior margin triangularly emarginated in middle. Tegmina distinctly extending over apex of abdomen, with 2 long and 5 short oblique veins; mirror slightly longer than wide (16: 10); apical area long; lateral area with 15 oblique subcostal veinlets. Fore tibia strongly swollen at tympana; internal tympanum with a slit-like opening on posterior side; external tympanum oblong and free.

Supra anal plate wider than long, triangularly emarginated in middle of posterior margin; areas above cerci respectively by a fold from lateral part of plate (Fig. 5). Subgenital plate strongly swollen at base. Phallus developed (Figs. 2-4): epiphallus vertically reflexed at base, distinctly divided in middle of apex, each side covered with short hairs on a large part of dorsal surface; epiphallus parameres short, multidentated; rami short, each with a projection near apical one-third of outer side; endophallus sclerotized and lamellated, with rounded apex, endophallus apodemes distinctly short; ectophallus parameres short, with rounded apex; ectophallus apodemes distinctly longer than endophallus apodemes, but not reaching apex of rami.

Coloration. Body brown with black markings. Head and pronotum dark brown, first two joint of antennae yellow. Tegmina brown, with black brown markings at basal and apical areas.

Female. Unknown.

Measurements (mm). Male: body 17.0, length with wings 22.5, pronotum 4.2, tegmen 18.0, hind femur 11.3.

Type material. Holotype 3, CHINA, Yunnan, Mengla, Menglun, 22. VII. 2007, coll. Guo Zheng.

Diagnosis. This new species is related to N. tranquilla Gorochov, but can be distinguished by the dorsal area of head and pronotum uniform coloration, without markings; epiphallus parameres short, multidentated; rami each with a projection near apical one-third of outer side.

Etymology. The specific name is derived from Latin words “ denticulata ” (dentate), referring to the apex of epiphallus parameres multidentated.

MAP 1.
