017D5369FFE6FF9155ACEDC9B22FFDFD.taxon	discussion	Remarks. There have been two forms of harlequin shrimps of the genus Hymenocera, one is Indo-West Pacific form, H. elegans Heller, 1861, which is spotted with brown encircled with bright blue on body, the other is Central and East Pacific form, H. picta Dana, 1852 a, which is spotted with wine-red with yellowish edges. Chace and Bruce (1993) treated the two forms as a single species, as “ the absence of apparent morphological differences and even of dissimilarities in the configurations of the spots ”. However, Debelius (2001) still recognized both the two forms are valid species due to the clearly distinct colours of their patterns. Because the colour pattern is very important and useful to distinguished close or sibling species, and the distributed ranges of the two forms are distinct, we recognize the two forms are two distinct species. The studies with DNA would be useful to check if the two forms are identical or distinct species. H. elegans was not previously recorded from Mayotte with certainty.	en	Li, Xinzheng, Cleva, Régis, Poupin, Joseph (2012): Report on some caridean shrimps (Crustacea: Decapoda) from Mayotte, southwest Indian Ocean. 017D5369FFF7FF8755ACEE8BB542FBB1.taxon	discussion	Remarks. The specimens with their rostral formulae 1 + 5 / 2 and 1 + 6 / 2 seem closer to Palaemonella disalvoi Fransen, 1987, not 1 + 7 / 3 as in the type of P. crosnieri. However, their other characteristics agree with the description and illustrations of Bruce (1978), and the type locality of P. crosnieri is Iles Glorieuses, 20 m, and known also from Loyalty Islands, 2 – 40 m (Li and Bruce, 2006), West Australia (Bruce, 1992, 2007), Marquesas Is., Polynesia (Li, 2008 a), its range is much wider than that of P. disalvoi, which is known only from its type locality Easter Island at 36 m (or 15 – 60 m, DiSalvo et al., 1988). We herewith tentatively treat this specimens as P. cro s n ie r i, although their rostral formulae do not agree with the type. The species was not previously recorded from Mayotte. 017D5369FFF6FF8655ACEE8BB23FFCB8.taxon	discussion	Remarks. In his revision of the species, Hayashi (2009) confirmed the records of Bruce (1970, part). The other records under the name Palaemonella spinulata Yokoya, 1936 before Hayashi (2009) might be confused with other species of the genus such as P. m a z i w i Bruce, 2002 and P. longidactylus Hayashi, 2009 and need to be verified. The only female specimen agrees well with the redescription and illustrations of Hayashi (2009). The species was not previously recorded from Mayotte with certainty.
