Kruczynski &amp; Jenner 1969; Williams 1984:48; Coelho &amp; Ramos-Porto 1998; Gregati et al. 2006; Goy 2010.</p><p>Material examined. 1 ovigerous Female, (TL: 61mm) 0 6 Apr. 2014, south edge of Deserta Island, 10m, 27°16'19.3'' S, 48°19'86.0'' W, between rocks, in a cavity with difficult access (LCP /ECZ/ UFSC-082).</p><p>Material observed. 1 individual, 25 Mar. 2014, north edge of Deserta Island–SC, 12m, 27°16'62.6''S 48°19'91.5''W, between large rocks in a cavity with difficult access; 2 individuals (1 couple), 0 6 Apr. 2014, south edge of Deserta Island–SC, 11m, 27°16'19.3''S 48°19'86.0''W, between rocks in a cavity with difficult access, one of these specimens was captured for a posteriori study under the microscope.</p><p>Distribution. Circumtropical species. Occur in the Indo-Pacific from the Red Sea and South Africa to the Hawaiian and Tuamotu Islands. In the Western Atlantic, it is found from Bermuda and North Carolina coast, Gulf of Mexico and South Florida, to the North coast of South America. In Brazil, this species has been recorded from Ceará (03o S) to São Paulo (23o S) states and in the Fernando de Noronha Archipelago (13o S).</p><p>Remark. Lewinsohn &amp; Holthuis 1978; Coelho &amp; Ramos-Porto 1998; Kocataş &amp; Katağan 2003; McLaughlin et al. 2005; Calado 2006; Calado 2008; Goy 2010.</p><p>Material examined. 1 Female, (TL: 42mm), 10 Jul. 2014, Calhau de São Pedro Island-SC, 22m, 27°16'19.3''S and 48°19'86.0''W, between rocks, in a cavity with difficult access (LCP /UFSC-096).</p><p>Material observed. 2 individuals, 0 9 Apr. 2014, Aranhas Island-SC, 6,6m, S 27°29'19.9'' W 48°21'90.1'' in different crevices well hidden, one of them in an inaccessible crevice with large rocks blocking access; 1 individual, 10 Jul. 2014, Calhau de São Pedro Island-SC, 22m, 27°16'19.3''S and 48°19'86.0''W, between rocks, in cavity with difficult access.</p><p>Distribution. Originally from the Mediterranean. Amphi-Atlantic, including Portugal, Azores, Cameroon, Madeira, and Congo in the East Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico in West Atlantic. According with Calado (2008) specimens of this species have been collected in Brazilian Waters and have already entered the aquarium trade in American markets.</p><p>Remark. The species record is now certain for the Brazilin coast. Recorded in the Western Atlantic—Bermuda, North Carolina, Florida, Gulf of Mexico, Bahamas, West Indies, Central America, Colombia, Venezuela, and Brazil. In Brasil, occurs in Atol das Rocas (3o S), Fernando de Noronha (13o S) and from Ceará (03o S) to Paraná (25o S).</p><p>Remark.
