136E87D6D47DFF90C8CBA2EE585BFC30.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Two specimens labelled as Hungary were studied in the NHMUK and ZIN. There are also some old records from Hungary (Fischer 1853; some identified by Boldyrev in 1927, see above). Ebner & Beier (1964) giving its distribution pointed out that it was formerly also in Hungary. It seems that those old records related to the former country borders. Some historical populations shown in the map may have become extinct today (Iorgu 2009; Lemonnier- Darcemont et al., 2009; Ivković et al. 2016). According to Burr (in Burr et al. 1923) “ … the individual variablity in the species of Bradyporus (apart from B. dasypus which is fairly constant in its characters) is enormous, and there exist hardly more than a single species, besides the B. dasypus, but it may be subdivided into several geographical races (subspecies). ” Later Karaman (1961) described a new form, Bradyporus (Bradyporus) dasypus f. bilineatus Karaman, 1961 from Macedonia. I have studied some specimens from Macedonia. These specimens have larger pronotum, with blunter and lighter lateral carinae. But similar characters are seen in some other populations and the other characters including titillator do not lead to separation in a different taxon. This species is in “ Least Concern ” status in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (2016 – 3) and in the European Red List of Orthoptera (Hochkirch et al. 2016).	en	Ünal, Mustafa (2017): Revision of the genus Bradyporus Charpentier, 1825 (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Bradyporinae). 136E87D6D47CFF93C8CBA7845A09FB9B.taxon	discussion	Remarks. One male was labelled as “ Turkiya, Angora, 1928 (leg. Sviridenko) in the ZIN. This male undoubtedly agree with this species, but the label must be wrongly attached since Ankara is very far from the distribution area of this species and except the two species, B. dilatatus and B. avanos, no other species of Bradyporus has been found in Ankara Province till now. According to Boldyrev (1927) and Miram (1929) the records in the second half of 19 th century from Ukraine: Taurien, Kherson, Kharkiv and Russia: Voronezh [type locality] are undoubtedly extinct. The populations in Ciscaucasia (Russia) shown in the map (Fig. 193) are possibly dying (Andrej V. Gorochov, pers. commun.). This species has not been shown as threatened in the IUCN Red List (2016 – 3), but it has “ Endangered ” status in the European Red List of Orthoptera (Hochkirch et al. 2016). It should be at least in “ Critically Endangered ” status or possibly extinct.	en	Ünal, Mustafa (2017): Revision of the genus Bradyporus Charpentier, 1825 (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Bradyporinae). 136E87D6D47FFF9FC8CBA6515FD6FE88.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Uvarov (1935) selected the adult female in the OUMNH as lectotype. But, it is clear from the Burr’s (1898) description that he did not describe a type series, but used one male that must be the only type. Therefore, Uvarov’s designation is invalid (ICZN). There are 2 males with the same original label, one of which is in the OUMNH and the other in the NHMUK. One of them must be the holotype. I have compared them with the original description and labelled the most appropriate male in the OUMNH as the type (holotype) of this species. One more male in the ZIN collected by Montandon was labelled as “ typus ”. But this also cannot be a type. Burr (1898) compared this species with B. macrogaster and B. dilatatus, but not with B. multibuberculatus which is the most related taxon. After comparison with B. multituberculatus I have concluded that they are undoubtedly conspecific. There is no distinct difference in titillators. But, because of some characters in female subgenital plate and male cerci (see the key) it is considered as a subspecies of B. multituberculatus (compare all figures provided herein). While grouping the species in my previous paper (Ünal 2011) it was included in the B. oniscus sp. group according to the literature. But it is placed with B. multituberculatus and B. karabagi in B. multituberculatus sp. group (see the key). This species is in “ Critically Endangered ” status in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (2016 – 3) and in the European Red List of Orthoptera (Hochkirch et al. 2016) with which I definitely agree.	en	Ünal, Mustafa (2017): Revision of the genus Bradyporus Charpentier, 1825 (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Bradyporinae). 136E87D6D473FF9EC8CBA7DE59ABFE60.taxon	discussion	Remarks. This species was included among the species of B. latipes sp. group in Ünal 2011. But after the comparison of all known taxa it is clear that surprisingly, it is related to B. multituberculatus and B. montandoni by the shape of female subgenital plate, ovipositor with non-divergent apex, the basal projection of ventral valve of ovipositor with rounded apex and the shape of male cerci with a single ended inner arm. Its present distribution does not support their close relationship but the morphological characters make it a member of the same group. It might be very interesting to make a molecular study and to see its natural history and relations with the other two taxa of the group. But it would not be easy to find fresh specimens of these 3 Critically Endangered species. This species has not been assessed for the IUCN Red List (2016 – 3). It is found very rarely and its habitats in S. E. Turkey are strongly under threat of the agricultural fields and intensive grazing. Therefore it should be in “ Critically Endangered ” status in the IUCN Red List.	en	Ünal, Mustafa (2017): Revision of the genus Bradyporus Charpentier, 1825 (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Bradyporinae). 136E87D6D475FF9BC8CBA7F8585BFE60.taxon	discussion	Remarks. The specimens given from Bulgaria: Kaliakra, Bolata, Balcic and from Serbia, Nisch (Tatu & Tauşan 2012) should be confirmed. This species is near to B. multituberculatus sp. group by the single ended inner arm of male cerci and the basal projection of ventral valve of ovipositor with rounded apex. But the clearly divergent apices of the ventral and dorsal valves of ovipositor are not similar which strongly agrees with the remaining 3 species groups. It seems that it is an interstage species between B. multituberculatus sp. group and B. macrogaster sp. group. However, because of its unique female subgenital plate which is one of the main characters of species groups, the shape of male cerci and titillator, it is retained in its own species group (see key above and Ünal 2011). 136E87D6D476FF9AC8CBA37C5E0DF8EE.taxon	discussion	Remarks. According to Willemse (1984) of this taxon in Greece was not established while the records of Harz (1969) from Central Greece and Peloponnisos probably refer to B. oniscus. Therefore, Willemse & Willemse (2008) excluded it from the fauna of Greece. The type locality is Turkey in 1853 (Fieber 1853). At that time Turkey would also cover the Balkans. So in my opinion the type locality is possibly the Central Balkans. Male and female syntypes are probably lost. The typical forms from Serbia: Nish should be the representative of this taxon since the type locality is probably near to this region. Nish is also the type locality of B. pancici Br. W. a synonym of this species. Therefore, one of two males (the photograph of male given here) in the NHMUK is designated as neotype. Distributional area and its borders of this subspecies should be clarified and the presence of in some places such as Macedonia, Romania: İaşi, N. Bulgaria should be determined. This species with both subspecies is in “ Endangered ” status in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (2016 – 3) and in the European Red List of Orthoptera (Hochkirch et al. 2016). This must be correct for the subspecies Bradyporus (Callimenus) macrogaster longicollis (see for the nominotypical subspecies above).	en	Ünal, Mustafa (2017): Revision of the genus Bradyporus Charpentier, 1825 (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Bradyporinae). 136E87D6D469FF85C8CBA2A7598EF97D.taxon	discussion	Remarks. This species was given as a synonym of B. macrogaster longicollis by Harz (1969) for the first time. All the subsequent authors followed Harz. A good series collected from the type locality, Skopje, was examined in the present study. The shape of titillator and other morphology given in the key and figures are distinct and easily separate it from B. macrogaster longicollis as well as the other species. Its distribution may be restricted to small areas, like the Anatolian B. conophallus and B. sureyai, that should be determined. This taxon was erroneously given at species level for the first time by me (Ünal 2011: 6). It is now consciously raised to species status here after the present comparative study. The female of this species is described here for the first time from its type locality. Although there is not enough data about its distribution and population densities, it is known only from Skopje and probably very rare. It should be in “ Data Deficient ” status in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species for now, but probably at least in “ Endangered ” status.	en	Ünal, Mustafa (2017): Revision of the genus Bradyporus Charpentier, 1825 (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Bradyporinae). 136E87D6D469FF84C8CBA5B25935F82E.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Its type locality in Iran Shah Kuh (Shaku in original label) means the top of mountain. it is presumably in Northern Iran. Avakyan (1981) studied 73 males and 5 females from Armenia, some of which may be belonged to B. gocmeni sp. nov. as one historical male of this new species is in the ZIN. Nataly Snegovaya sent me some photographs of this species from Azerbaijan which are the first records for this country. This species has not been assessed for the IUCN Red List (2016 – 3). This species is widely distributed in Iran, Armenia, Turkey and Azerbaijan. It is still found in different locations. So it should be in “ Least Concern ” status in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.	en	Ünal, Mustafa (2017): Revision of the genus Bradyporus Charpentier, 1825 (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Bradyporinae). 136E87D6D46BFF86C8CBA4375EC5FE38.taxon	discussion	Remarks. This species was described by Garai-Gyulai & Ünal (2014) after 5 males and 4 females. I noticed when I had received a couple of paratypes that are in the last nymphal instar. That the remaining type series including the holotype are all nymphs has been confirmed by Adrienne Garai-Gyulai (pers. commun.). Under the circumstances this species should be compared with the nymphal instars of the nearest species B. latipes which is distributed simpatrically (Fig. 195). Actually I have seen some nymphs of B. latipes in the collections and they listed here. But I did not pay attention enough to them since I was unaware that time about the nymphal stage of this species. Titillators of the type serie of B. picurka are sclerotized like adults. The structure of tegmina, fully concealed under pronotum which is the most clear evidence of its nymphal stage. It is not impossible to be of the same taxon as B. latipes, but a further comparative study of the male genitalia of nymphs of B. latipes is needed.	en	Ünal, Mustafa (2017): Revision of the genus Bradyporus Charpentier, 1825 (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Bradyporinae). 136E87D6D460FF8FC8CBA5165F06FA05.taxon	discussion	Remarks. This species was described after 1 male and 1 female without type designation (Stål 1875). The male was subsequently labelled as “ typus ” and the female as “ allotypus ” in the NHRS. Because of the improbability of holotype I gave the only male in the NHRS as lectotype which is the first indication of the type designation (Ünal 2011: 14) for this species. Therefore, I confirm here again the male labelled as “ typus ” in the NHRS is the lectotype and the female labelled as “ allotypus ” in the NHRS is paralectotype of this species. For some hybrid forms see the remarks section of the next species. This species has not been assessed for the IUCN Red List (2016 – 3). It has enough populations and distribution. It should be in “ Least Concern ” status in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.	en	Ünal, Mustafa (2017): Revision of the genus Bradyporus Charpentier, 1825 (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Bradyporinae). 136E87D6D465FF8BC8CBA6995928FEF2.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. This new species species is easily recognized by the shape of unique male cerci. It is undoubtedly a member of B. dilatatus sp. group by the inflated metazona of male pronotum, shape of ovipositor, female subgenital plate and coloration. Its titillator is near to two species B. dilatatus and B. avanos. Basal parts of apical arms slender and narrow as in B. dilatatus, but apical parts not strongly curved towards posterior (in B. dilatatus strongly and regularly curved towards posterior and downwards). In some specimens of the new species apex of one apical arm (not in both) slightly recurved (in B. avanos apices of apical arms clearly and strongly recurved including the apical tooth). The male cerci, small size and slender body, female subgenital plate with small basal pits easily separate it from B. dilatatus and B. avanos. The small size and general appearance similar to B. conophallus, but the male cerci, titillator, the shape of basal poits of female subgenital plate are very different. Its female cerci and slender apical arms of titillator similar to B. sureyai, but the shape of titillator with clearly longer apical arms, male cerci, pronotum, female subgenital plate and slender body are very different.	en	Ünal, Mustafa (2017): Revision of the genus Bradyporus Charpentier, 1825 (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Bradyporinae). 136E87D6D465FF8BC8CBA6995928FEF2.taxon	discussion	Remarks. The type locality, Top Dağı (Mt. Top = Mt. Kartevin), located between Ağrı and Muş (also Patnos and Malazgirt districts) is at the border of these provinces. Bayram Göçmen (from Turkey) sent me a female of B. dilatatus sp. group from this Mountain. Top Dağı is some distance from the main distribution area of this species group. I and Ahmet Erden went to this mountain, but we could not find any Bradyporus during a long search. At the second attempt after a hard 6 hours walk to another part of the summit (Fig. 205) we finally found this interesting species. It lives in the high mountain steppe vegetation which is under a moderate threat from grazing, in a very restricted part of the summit. Two colleagues sent me some photographs of Bradyporus sp. from Eastern Turkey. Adrienne Garai (from Hungary) collected some specimens in 2012 from Zara and Yakhisar (Sivas Province) also some distance from the type locality of this species. Later Johan van't Bosch (from the Netherlands) took some photographs of a species in 2014 summer from Ağrı province: between Lake Van and Patnos District, very near to the type locality. It seems to me from these images that they probably belong to this new species. A historical and very fragile specimen from Armenia (ZIN), without titillator and right cercus, and damaged left cercus, possibly belongs to this species because of the pronotal structure and general appearance. The population density is high in the type locality. It has been found from several more locations, but is rare. It should have “ Vulnerable ” status in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species for now.	en	Ünal, Mustafa (2017): Revision of the genus Bradyporus Charpentier, 1825 (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Bradyporinae). 136E87D6D467FF8AC8CBA7515F07FE1D.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Some males have titillator with more slender and elongated apical arms even in the same population such as Dağ Geçidi and Tatarlı (Fig. 32 b). This species has not been assessed for the IUCN Red List (2016 – 3). The population densities are high in the collected localities. It has been found from several more locations. But, its distribution area is quite restricted. It should be in “ Near Threatened ” status in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.	en	Ünal, Mustafa (2017): Revision of the genus Bradyporus Charpentier, 1825 (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Bradyporinae).
