The name is a junior primary homonym (not Olivier 1807) and applies to a species of Isorhynchus Schönherr in Ceutorhynchinae, most likely I. candidulus (Gyllenhaal, 1935) (E. Colonnelli, pers. com.). A needed revision of the genus is hampered by the unresolved fate of the original material lent to Schönherr (see also Marshall 1904: 7).
