1B0887ACFF801972BEC2C9DAF3A5FAE5.taxon	description	This is a broadnosed weevil of the tribe Cyphicerini, probably Myllocerus Schönherr or near (R. Borovec, personal information). The genus is known from southern Africa but not from the historical Dutch Cape Colony, so the provenance needs confirmation. One specimen.	en	Prena, Jens (2025): On some Curculionidae incertae sedis (Coleoptera) named by Carl Peter Thunberg (1743 - 1828). 1B0887ACFF801972BEC2C88EF260F9CD.taxon	description	The species was described in Thunberg (1813: 381) and Thunberg (1815: 115), the former with a reference to the latter work (see Discussion). Schönherr (1845: 308) referred to the name but did not see the specimen. This is a species of Gymnetron Schönherr (comb. n.). The name is a senior subjective synonym of G. hirsutum (Rosenschöld, 1838), syn. n. (action attributable to R. Caldara). 1B0887ACFF801972BEC2CB56F000F8B5.taxon	description	The species was described in Thunberg (1813: 381) and Thunberg (1815: 116), the former with a reference to the latter work (see Discussion). Schönherr (1845: 308) referred to the name but did not see the specimen. This is a species of Curculioninae, provisionally assigned here to Anoplini sensu lato (action attributable to R. Caldara). One specimen.	en	Prena, Jens (2025): On some Curculionidae incertae sedis (Coleoptera) named by Carl Peter Thunberg (1743 - 1828). 1B0887ACFF801972BEC2CA79F2EAF866.taxon	description	The species was described in Thunberg (1813: 380) and Thunberg (1815: 115), the former with a reference to the latter work (see Discussion). Schönherr (1843) synonymized R. vitellus with Acallopistus vellicosus Schönherr, 1826, an action overlooked by Haran (2013). The name is resurrected here and regarded as a subjective senior synonym of Acallopistus guttatus Boheman, 1835 (syn. n.). Borovec, pers. comm.). Two specimens.	en	Prena, Jens (2025): On some Curculionidae incertae sedis (Coleoptera) named by Carl Peter Thunberg (1743 - 1828). 1B0887ACFF851977BEC2CE36F208FC39.taxon	description	The name is a junior primary homonym (not Gmelin 1790, not Paykull 1792) and applies to a species of Bronchus Germar in Cyclominae. Marshall (1904) did not see the types of Thunberg’s presumably five Bronchus species and his interpretations require verification. Two specimens.	en	Prena, Jens (2025): On some Curculionidae incertae sedis (Coleoptera) named by Carl Peter Thunberg (1743 - 1828). 1B0887ACFF851977BEC2CDBEF3ECFE81.taxon	description	The species was described in Thunberg (1813: 389) and was listed in Thunberg (1815: 119) under Curculio (brevirostris group of p. 106). The name is a primary homonym (not Olivier 1790) and applies to a species of Eremnus Schönherr, Tanyrhynchini. 1B0887ACFF851977BEC2CEFAF445FB3D.taxon	description	The species was described in Thunberg (1813: 380) and Thunberg (1815: 115), the former with a reference to the latter work (see Discussion). Schönherr (1845: 308) referred to the name but did not see the specimen. The name is a junior primary homonym (not Olivier 1807) and applies to a species of Isorhynchus Schönherr in Ceutorhynchinae, most likely I. candidulus (Gyllenhaal, 1935) (E. Colonnelli, pers. com.). A needed revision of the genus is hampered by the unresolved fate of the original material lent to Schönherr (see also Marshall 1904: 7).
