The species name comes from the Latin adjective “ acutalis ” meaning “pointed” referring to the pointed end of pit hook (distal suprategular apophysis) in male palp.</p><p>Types. Holotype ³, China, Yunnan Province: Fugong County, Lishadi Township, <a href="https://tb.plazi.org/GgServer/search?materialsCitation.longitude=98.7798&amp;materialsCitation.latitude=27.1052" title="Search Plazi for locations around (long 98.7798/lat 27.1052)">Shibali</a>, 27.10520ºN, 98.77980ºE, alt. 2530m, 4–10 August 2005 , G. Peng (20070928).</p><p>Diagnosis. The new species resembles to the type species Herbiphantes cericeus (Saito, 1934) in having the similar long tibia of male palp and the broad epigynal scape (Figs 3 A–D, 4A–D, 5A, B, 6A–C, 7A, B; Tanasevitch, 1992, fig. 1e, 2i), but can be distinguished by: the pit hook hook–shaped with pointed end in new species (Figs 3A, B, 4A, B, 5A, B), whereas slightly curved in H. cericeus (Tanasevitch, 1992, fig. 1e). The distal arm of paracymbium longer than wide in new species (Figs 3B, 4B, 5B), whereas wider than long in H. cericeus (Tanasevitch, 1992, fig. 1e). Epigynum can be distinguished by the posterior median plate triangular in new species (Figs. 6 A–C, 7A, B), whereas not triangular in H. cericeus (Tanasevitch, 1992, fig. 2i).</p><p>Description: Male (holotype): Total length: 4.46; carapace 1.97 long, 1.38 wide, yellow, cephalic region strongly elevated, mid dorsally with a longitudinal black band; fovea, cervical and radial grooves distinct (Fig. 1A, B). clypeus 0.48 high. Sternum longer than wide, yellowish brown; labium brown, wider than long; maxillae long, distal end broader (Fig. 1C) with scopulae. Chelicerae yellowish brown, very long (Fig. 2), four promarginal and three retromarginal teeth. Eye region narrow, AER recurved, PER procurved, slightly wider than AER. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.09, ALE 0.11, PME 0.11, PLE 0.11, AME–AME 0.05, AME–ALE, 0.10, AME–PME, 0.14, PME–PME 0.08, PME–PLE 0.10, ALE–ALE 0.56, PLE–PLE 0.59, ALE–PLE 0.02. Legs with alternate light and dark annuli; length of legs: I 11.9 (3.11, 3.68, 3.37, 1.74), II 11 (2.98, 3.28, 3.11, 1.63), III 8.15 (3.05, 2.11, 2.02, 0.97), IV 8.79 (2.45, 2.63, 2.59, 1.12); leg formula I–II–IV–III. Tm I 0.19 and Tm IV 0.12. Tibial dorsal spine formula: 2–2–2–2. Abdomen 2.44 long, 1.22 wide, oval, grey, dorsally with three pairs of white patches and a longitudinal white band followed by black patches posteriorly on each side, ventral side light grey with irregular white patches (Fig. 1 A–C). Palp: patella 1/3 length of tibia, curved mesally, dorsally with a long thick spine (Figs 3 A–D, 4A–D, 5A, B); tibia about 1.5 times longer than cymbium, with three retrolateral and two dorsal trichobothria (Figs. 3 A–D, 4A–D, 3A, B). Cymbium truncated, prolateral notch shallow (Figs 3 A–D, 4A–D, 5A, B). Paracymbium small, basal part with setae and a finger–like projection, distal arm longer than wide (Figs. 3B, 4B, 5B). Pit hook sclerotized, hook–shaped with pointed end (Figs 3 A–C, 4A, B, 5A, B). Median membrane broad, curved distally (Figs 3 A–C, 4A, B, 5A, B). Radix bar–shaped, more than 4 times longer than wide (Figs. 3A, 4A, 5A). Lamella characteristica long with serrated apical end (Figs 3 A–C, 4A, B, 5A, B). Embolus small, with blunt end (Figs 3 A–C, 4A, B, 5A, B).</p><p>Female (paratype): Total length: 3.54. carapace 1.49 long, 1.09 wide, yellow, cephalic region slightly elevated, mid dorsally with a longitudinal black band; fovea, cervical and radial grooves distinct (Fig. 1D, E); clypeus 0.34 high. Sternum longer than wide, yellowish brown; labium brown, wider than long; maxillae long, distal end broader (Fig. 1F) with scopulae. Chelicerae yellowish brown, two promarginal and three retromarginal teeth. Pedipal with a terminal claw. Eye region narrow, AER recurved, PER straight, slightly wider than AER. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.08, ALE 0.11, PME 0.09, PLE 0.09, AME–AME 0.03, AME–ALE, 0.08, AME–PME, 0.09, PME–PME 0.06, PME–PLE 0.07, ALE–ALE 0.47, PLE–PLE 0.51, ALE–PLE 0.01. Legs alternate light and dark annuli; length of legs: I 8.73 (2.21, 2.63, 2.42, 1.47), II 8.26 (2.14, 2.51, 2.23, 1.38), III 5.63 (1.56, 1.73, 1.46, 0.88), IV 6.78 (1.98, 2.06, 1.75, 0.99); leg formula I–II–IV–III. Tm I 0.18 and Tm IV 0.14. Tibial dorsal spine formula: 2–2–2–2. Abdomen 2.16 long, 1.15 wide, oval, grey, dorsally with four white patches and a longitudinal white band followed by black patches posteriorly on each side, ventral side light grey with irregular white patches (Fig. 1 D–F). Tracheal system desmitracheate. Epigynum pale and transparent, ducts distinct. Scapus broad, wider than long, stretcher absent. Posterior median plate triangular. Spermathecae finger–like, curved anteriorly (Figs 6 A–C, 7A, B).</p><p>Distribution. The species name comes from the Latin adjective “ furcata ”, meaning “forked”, referring to the bifurcate tip of retrolaeral tibial apophysis in male palp.</p><p>Types. The new species resembles Labullinyphia tersa (Simon, 1894) in having the protegulum comprises of long sclerotized stalk with the distal membranous end; embolus very long and filiform; epigynum with long spirally coiled copulatory ducts (Figs 9–12; figs 2A, 4A, B, 5E). It can be distinguished by: both male and female provided with cephalic lobe in new species (Fig. 8B, E), whereas absent in L. tersa (Benjamin &amp; Hormiga, 2009, fig. 1A, C). The femur I lacks thick spines basally and metatarsus I short, distal end with three macrosetae in new species (Fig. 11 D–F), whereas femur I ventrally and metatarsus I long, dorsally with several macrosetae in L. tersa (Benjamin &amp; Hormiga, 2009, fig. 1F). The distal arm of paracymbium, not knob–shaped in new species (Figs 9B, 10B, 11G), whereas knob–shaped in L. tersa (Benjamin &amp; Hormiga, 2009, figs 2A, 4E). Embolus with about four and a half spiral coils in new species (Figs 9 A–C, 10A, B, 11B, C), whereas with two and a half spiral coils in L. tersa (Benjamin &amp; Hormiga, 2009, figs. 2A, 4E). Spermathecae elliptical in new species (Figs 12C, D, 13A, B), whereas globular in L. tersa (Benjamin &amp; Hormiga, 2009, fig. 4AB).</p><p>Description. Male (holotype): Total length: 3.29. Carapace 1.63 long, 0.89 wide, dark brown, anteriorly projecting snout–like 0.30 long, with AMEs and covered with setae; cephalic pits present at the base of cephalic lobe; cephalic lobe gear lever-shaped, 0.81 long, covered with spines; provided with thick spines in a row on each side and three patches of hairs anteriorly; cervical and radial grooves distinct (Fig. 8A, B); clypeus 0.14 high. Sternum longer than wide, dark brown, with spine – like hairs; labium wider than long; maxillae long, distal end broader (Fig. 8C) with scopulae. Chelicerae with four promarginal and six retromarginal teeth. AER recurved, PER recurved slightly wider. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.08; ALE 0.11; PME 0.10; PLE 0.10; AME–AME 0.10; PME–PME 0.07; AME–ALE, 0.25; PME–PLE 0.11; AME–PME 0.25; ALE–ALE 0.47; PLE–PLE 0.52; ALE–PLE contiguous. Length of legs: I 4.33 (1.17, 1.34, 0.56, 1.36), II 4.45 (1.15, 1.31, 0.87, 0.92), III 3.52 (1.03, 1.01, 0.81, 0.67), IV 4.29 (1.26, 1.25, 0.98, 0.80). Leg I metatarsus short, distal end with three macrosetae (Fig. xxx). Leg formula I–IV–II–III. TmI and TmIV present. Tibial spine formula: 2–2–2–2. Abdomen 1.66 long, 0.98 wide, oval, pale, grey, anteriorly longitudinal and posteriorly with brown chevron–like pattern (Fig. 13A, B); ventral side with a longitudinal brown band on each side (Fig. 8C). Palp (Figs 9–11); tibia with a retrolateral apophysis longer than wide, bifurcated at tip (Figs 9 A–C, 10A, B); paracymbium with broad distal arm, slightly protruding apically (Figs 9 A–C, 10A, B, 11G); protegulum with long sclerotized stalk proximally and bifurcated membranous tip (Figs 9 A–C, 10A, B); distal suprategular apophysis proximally somewhat triangular and a distal long column–shaped apophysis with small membranous part in retrolateral view (Figs 9 A–C, 10A, B); Radix small and spiral, with a very long filiform embolus with a membranous margin along its full length that coils about four and a half times into concentric spiral turns in the apical region of the palp before continuing to curve out of plane (Figs 9 A–C, 10A, B, 11G).</p><p>Female (paratype): Total length: 3.10. Carapace 1.22 long, 0.88 wide, dark brown, cephalic lobe present; cer- vical and radial grooves distinct (Fig. 8D, E); clypeus 0.14 high. Sternum longer than wide, dark brown, with spine – like setae; labium wider than long; maxillae long, distal end broader (Fig. 8F) with scopulae. Chelicerae with five promarginal and five retromarginal teeth. Pedipalpal claw absent. AER recurved, PER recurved slightly wider. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.07; ALE 0.11; PME 0.09; PLE 0.10; AME–AME 0.04; PME–PME 0.06; AME–ALE, 0.05; PME–PLE 0.07; AME–PME 0.08; ALE–ALE 0.41; PLE–PLE 0.46; ALE–PLE contiguous. Length of legs: I 5.7 (1.63, 1.75, 1.09, 1.23), II 5.24 (1.49, 1.64, 1.11, 1), III 3.93 (1.13, 1.18, 0.91, 0.71), IV 4.89 (1.44, 1.46, 1.15, 0.84). Leg formula I–II–IV–III. TmI and TmIV present. Tibial spine formula: 2–2–2–2. Abdomen 1.88 long, 1.05 wide, oval, pale, grey, anteriorly longitudinal and posteriorly with brown chevron–like pattern (Fig. 8D, E); ventral side with a longitudinal brown band on each side (Fig. 8F). Tracheal system desmitracheate.</p><p>Epigynum and internal genitalia (Figs 12 A–D, 13A, B): posteroventrally epigynal plate with a socket with long spirally coiled copulatory ducts with an anterior turning point and lateral elliptical spermathecae.
