1F7B87E5FFFCD709FF7D9A06FB92FB98.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis Small to medium in size. Palpi with third segment long, thin and prominently protruding; forewing vein M 2 straight, arising about midway between the origins of veins M 1 and M 3, and vein M 3 closer to vein CuA 1 than to vein M 2, vein 2 A straight, apex not produced; forewing upperside and underside with white hyaline spots, hindwing upperside usually with similar spots. Male genitalia: uncus long and thin, undivided, socius thin and pointed or absent, saccus variable, very short to long; female genitalia with anterior and posterior lamella well developed, ductus bursa short, signum absent. Externally the genus is very similar to Suada and Suastus, but can be distinguished from the former by forewing apex not produced, vein 2 A straight; hindwing underside ochreous. The genus is separated from the latter by forewing vein R 1 bowed towards and much closer to vein Sc than to vein R 2.	en	Fan, Xiaoling, Chiba, Hideyuki, Wang, Min (2010): The genus Scobura Elwes & Edwards, 1897 from China, with descriptions of two new species (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae). 1F7B87E5FFF4D701FF7D9896FBE3F8FD.taxon	discussion	Remarks A male specimen from Hainan was misplaced in the genus Polytremis and described as a new subspecies of P. flavinerva. We examined this specimen and compared it to the type of hainana. Its palpi, wing pattern and male genitalia show that it belongs to the genus Scobura but differs from all the known species of the genus. Externally it resembles S. lyso, but can be distinguished from it by the following characters: forewing upperside with cell spots conjoined, spot in space CuA 2 wider; hindwing with dot-like spot in space M 3. Male genitalia with dorsal side of valva distally convex, ventrodistal process shorter than half the length of valva. Based on these characters, this skipper should be assigned to Scobura and raised to the species level: S. hainana (Gu & Wang, 1997). Young (1996) reared Scobura larvae from Tianjinshan, Guangdong Province, and obtained 2 male specimens, which were identified as S. coniata (Hering). In his revision of the S. coniata species complex, Devyatkin (2004) described S. youngi as a new species on the basis of the two males reared by Young. Based on the original description and illustrations, youngi has the following character states: forewing cell spots conjoined, the lower one produced toward base; spot in space 2 (CuA 1) elongate, produced toward base; hindwing spot in spaces 4 - 5 (M 1 - M 2) rounded, spot in space 3 (M 3) dot-like, spot in space 2 (CuA 1) elongate; male genitalia: cuiller (harpe) distally rounded, much shorter 1 / 2 the length of clasp. These features and male genitalia are identical to those of S. hainana (Gu & Wang, 1997), whose type speciemen was examined in the present study. According to the original description, S. youngi is smaller (forewing length = 19 mm), but this is likely due to artifical rearing. Therefore, S. youngi is considered a synonym of S. hainana. Female adult (Figs. 17 − 18) and female genitalia (Fig. 58) are illustrated for the first time.	en	Fan, Xiaoling, Chiba, Hideyuki, Wang, Min (2010): The genus Scobura Elwes & Edwards, 1897 from China, with descriptions of two new species (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae). Male genitalia (Figs. 59 − 63): Uncus longer than tegumen, thin and long distally; socius slender and pointed at tip; saccus long; valva with ventrodistal process rather pointed; aedeagus with suprazonal sheath prominently shorter than subzonal sheath; juxta spade-like, thin and long basally.	en	Fan, Xiaoling, Chiba, Hideyuki, Wang, Min (2010): The genus Scobura Elwes & Edwards, 1897 from China, with descriptions of two new species (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae). 1F7B87E5FFF7D704FF7D9F2CFE85FC78.taxon	discussion	Remarks The new species is very similar to S. woolletti (Riley, 1923) from Borneo (Fig. 21 − 22, 64 − 69), but can be distinguished from it by the following characters: hindwing underside ground color ochreous; all white spots surrounded by large black ferruginous spots; the spot in space M 2 - M 1 the largest, spots in spaces CuA 1 and Sc + R 1 subequal; valva of male genitalia with harpal process much broader at base and sharply pointed at the end. The new species might be considered as a subspecies of S. wooletti, but judging from the disjunct distribution as well as the morphological difference, we consider it a distinct species. The status of females of S. woolletti from Manipur and Siam that Evans (1949) listed and ssp. cephalina Evans, 1932 from Java needs to be reexamined.	en	Fan, Xiaoling, Chiba, Hideyuki, Wang, Min (2010): The genus Scobura Elwes & Edwards, 1897 from China, with descriptions of two new species (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae).
