1E0387F2FFEBFFC244A8FA97921177B4.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Superficially, many species of Tenupalpa are similar to those of Pulchrala in having a white to greyish forewing with an orange distal patch. However, males of Tenupalpa typically have unmodified labial palpi, whereas those of Pulchrala have expansible hair pencils on the dorsal surface. Also, the coremata of Tenupalpa are short and situated mediolaterally on tergum VIII, whereas they are rather long and situated laterally in Pulchrala. The presence of tegumen tubercles, which is typical of Tenupalpa, has been reported elsewhere only in some species of Palumbina within Thiotrichinae.	en	Lee, Ga-Eun, Li, Houhun (2022): Taxonomic study of the genus Tenupalpa Lee et Li, 2021 (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae Thiotrichinae) from China, with descriptions of fifteen new species. 1E0387F2FFE6FFCD44A8FAF69154710E.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. The species can be distinguished from congeners by the dark fuscous forewing with the distal half strongly mixed with brownish grey. The male genitalia of T. fuscalata sp. nov. are most similar to those of T. immaculata sp. nov., but the uncus is broader and there are fewer tegumen tubercles than in the latter species. Also, the anellus lobes of T. fuscalata are fusiform, constricted basally and apically, whereas those of T. immaculata sp. nov. are ovate. In the female genitalia, the boomerang-shaped signum is distinctive.	en	Lee, Ga-Eun, Li, Houhun (2022): Taxonomic study of the genus Tenupalpa Lee et Li, 2021 (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae Thiotrichinae) from China, with descriptions of fifteen new species. 1E0387F2FFE7FFCE44A8FBE091BD7733.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. The species may be confused with the similar T. isabellina sp. nov., but the forewing coloration is somewhat paler than that of the latter. Diagnostic characters for T. immaculata are present on the legs: the mid-tibia lacks a spot, and the hind tibia is dark fuscous apically. In T. isabellina sp. nov., a fuscous spot is present at the distal 1 / 3 of the mid-tibia, and the apex of the hind tibia is pale orange. The male genitalia of T. immaculata are differentiated from those of T. isabellina by the shorter uncus, narrower apex of valva, and the anellus lobe distally constricted.	en	Lee, Ga-Eun, Li, Houhun (2022): Taxonomic study of the genus Tenupalpa Lee et Li, 2021 (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae Thiotrichinae) from China, with descriptions of fifteen new species. 1E0387F2FFFCFFD644A8FC9F92C37393.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Wingspan 8.0 – 8.5 mm. This species is distinguished by the presence of an orange distal patch and the absence of a black apical spot on the forewing, although the orange patch may be absent, especially in specimens from Japan (Kyaw, Yagi & Hirowatari 2019). Also, there is color pattern variation in the forewing, with the distal 1 / 3 or 2 / 3 broadly grey to dark fuscous. The male genitalia are most similar to those of T. acutata sp. nov. Compared to the latter species, T. flavitermina has the valva without an apical projection and a shorter saccus. In addition, the posterior margin of the vinculum is narrowly convex in T. flavitermina.	en	Lee, Ga-Eun, Li, Houhun (2022): Taxonomic study of the genus Tenupalpa Lee et Li, 2021 (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae Thiotrichinae) from China, with descriptions of fifteen new species. 1E0387F2FFFCFFD744A8F95E93067705.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Adult wingspan 8.5 − 10.0 mm. Tenupalpa biformis is diagnosed by the glossy white forewing with a broad dark grey area in distal half, an orange distal patch and a black apical spot. The male genitalia are characterized by the apically pointed, large thumb-like anellus lobes and the juxta with a short-forked projection. The female genitalia are similar to T. venustalis as seen in the short apophyses anteriores and the corpus bursae without signum, but T. biformis can be distinguished from the latter by the medially elongate anterior margin of tergum VIII.	en	Lee, Ga-Eun, Li, Houhun (2022): Taxonomic study of the genus Tenupalpa Lee et Li, 2021 (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae Thiotrichinae) from China, with descriptions of fifteen new species. 1E0387F2FFF2FFD944A8FC2F93277213.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Superficially, this species closely resembles T. crassimedia sp. nov., T. acutimedia sp. nov., T. breviaedeaga sp. nov., T. magniguttata sp. nov., T. perparviloba sp. nov., T. uncativalva sp. nov., T. zhengi sp. nov., and T. dissimilis sp. nov., and it is difficult to separate these species based only on external characters. Tenupalpa acutata sp. nov. is differentiated from other species by the shape of male sternum VIII, which is short and sub-rectangular compared to the round or pentagonal-shaped sternum of most other species. The male genitalia are distinguished by the slender valva, often with a minute spine near apex, and the apically pointed aedeagus. The female genitalia are similar to those of T. flavitermina, but the corpus bursae is narrower, and the signum is situated more anteriorly in T. acutata sp. nov.	en	Lee, Ga-Eun, Li, Houhun (2022): Taxonomic study of the genus Tenupalpa Lee et Li, 2021 (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae Thiotrichinae) from China, with descriptions of fifteen new species. 1E0387F2FFF2FFD944A8FC2F93277213.taxon	description	Variation. Tenupalpa acutata sp. nov. is variable in color pattern, with the forewings of some specimens gradually darkened from the base to the apex, and in others divided into white and grey areas. The termen of T. acutata sp. nov. is usually tinged with orange near the apical spot, and the dorsum is slightly suffused with orange beyond the fold, but these features can also be indistinct. At the same locality, specimens collected in May tend to be larger than those collected in August. In the male genitalia, specimens from Guangxi often lack the small spine near the apex of valva, whereas those from Zhejiang have spines.	en	Lee, Ga-Eun, Li, Houhun (2022): Taxonomic study of the genus Tenupalpa Lee et Li, 2021 (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae Thiotrichinae) from China, with descriptions of fifteen new species. 1E0387F2FFCAFFE044A8FC0B91EA725E.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. The forewing pattern of T. xanthodora is quite different from that of its congeners, with the basal 1 / 3 marked with black and yellow longitudinal streaks (Fig. 98). Other species of Tenupalpa usually have the base uniformly colored without distinct pattern elements. The male genitalia are somewhat similar to those of T. flavitermina and T. acutata sp. nov. in having a sinuous distal part of the aedeagus and oval anellus lobes bearing a long apical bristle. However, the genitalia of T. xanthodora can be distinguished from those of the latter two species by the valva expanded in the apical 1 / 3 and the larger anellus lobes.	en	Lee, Ga-Eun, Li, Houhun (2022): Taxonomic study of the genus Tenupalpa Lee et Li, 2021 (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae Thiotrichinae) from China, with descriptions of fifteen new species. 1E0387F2FFCAFFE044A8FC0B91EA725E.taxon	discussion	Remarks. The species was originally described in Thiotricha based on a single specimen collected from Myanmar (labeled as Burma). The male genitalia and the abdomen of the holotype housed in NHMUK are characteristic of Tenupalpa: small uncus, tegumen bearing a bundle of tubercles (Fig. 100), rounded sternum VIII, and short external coremata (Fig. 102). Based on these morphological traits, we propose the new combination, T. xanthodora (Meyrick, 1923) comb. nov. In our previous work (Lee et al. 2021), we incorrectly transferred Thiotricha glenias Meyrick, 1908, to Tenupalpa. Thiotricha glenias is superficially similar to Tenupalpa species in wing pattern and coloration; however, its male possesses an expansible hair pencil dorsally on the labial palpus, setae are present on the dorsal surface of the tegumen, and tegumen tubercles are absent. These features are characteristic of many species of Thiotricha and Pulchrala. The generic position of the species requires further study, but the combination of morphological characters is certainly not typical of Tenupalpa. Therefore, we propose Thiotricha glenias stat. rev., resurrected from combination with Tenupalpa.	en	Lee, Ga-Eun, Li, Houhun (2022): Taxonomic study of the genus Tenupalpa Lee et Li, 2021 (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae Thiotrichinae) from China, with descriptions of fifteen new species.
