Similar to apterous female in general structure and coloration with following exceptions: pronotum length / width: 0.98 / 1.04, humeral angles slightly prominent, apex slightly produced to a broadly rounded angle; hemelytra truncate, bearing one closed cell, with brown setae in subcosta. Ecological notes. This species was collected from mangrove lagoons in the Estero Villa del Sol, El Morro and Agua Clara (Fig. 1). It was most abundant in Estero Villa del Sol, where the habitat is characterized by air temperature 30 ºC, water temperature 28.5 ºC, pH 7.5, conductivity 1 S / m and dissolved oxygen 40 %. This species has been collected along both Pacific and Atlantic coasts of Costa Rica, in freshwater lagoons and one river. It has been found in localities close to the coast from 10 m. o. s. l. in the Pacific slope, to localities over 852 m in the Caribbean slope.
