4D27834FFFFCFFB8FF79109EFE8999ED.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. The genus is characterized by naked eyes, quadrifine venation (vein M 2 in hindwing well developed), cryptic greenish brown coloration of forewing, and characteristic structure of genitalia. Males have daggerlike uncus, elongate valva with weakly expressed neck to cucullus, narrow sacculus with pointed distal extension directed latitudinal; clasper and harpe reduced or completely absent; vesica tubular or bulbous-tubular, with short cornuti on plate-like base. Females have complicated structure of antrum with modified antevaginal plates. Externally members of the genus resemble Belciana biformis (Moore, 1858), the type species of Belciana, known from South-East Asia, but differ in more greyish coloration of forewing, details of wing patterns, absence of sharp medial shade on forewings and uniform color of hindwing. As the genitalia of both sexes of Belciades spp. and Belciana biformis have strictly different structure, we consider external similarity of these taxa as convergent. The genus has an East-Asiatic distribution, with three species known from China and one from North Thailand and Laos. The widely distributed Belciades niveola ranges fgrom SW China to Korea, Japan, and Russian Far East, north to the Amur basin and Sakhalin. The genus was revised by Kononenko (1997) who described three new species from China.	en	Behounek, Gottfried, Han, Hui-Lin, Kononenko, Vladimir (2011): A review of the genus Belciades Kozhanchikov, 1950 (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae, Pantheinae), with descriptions of two new species from China and Thailand. 4D27834FFFFFFFBBFF791206FDF09B11.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Adult (Figs. 3, 4). Wingspan 39 – 42 mm. B. koenigi is externally similar in color and pattern of the forewing to B. niveola, but differs in more intensive cyan-bluish-green tint of ground color of forewing and grayish-brown hindwing with two traceable pale transverse lines. In forewing pattern it differs in shape of basal band, absence of white border around inner and outer lines and less expressed grey suffusion in medial field. In male genitalia (Fig. 18) it differs mainly by more proportional shape of valva (the neck of cucullus less expressed), shape of juxta and completely reduced harpe. The vesica is similar to that of niveola, differing by the absence of cornuti on basal part (a row of spines is on ventral lobe of carina). The female genitalia (Fig. 24) have prominent differences in shape of ostial part: antrum oval, without the folk-like antevaginal plate.	en	Behounek, Gottfried, Han, Hui-Lin, Kononenko, Vladimir (2011): A review of the genus Belciades Kozhanchikov, 1950 (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae, Pantheinae), with descriptions of two new species from China and Thailand. 4D27834FFFFEFFB0FF79144EFE3C9C31.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Belciades cyana differs from other Belciades species by cyan-bluish coloration of thorax and forewing, absence of brown subbasal band and brown subapical patch expressed in wing pattern of Belciades. Wing pattern of B. cyana formed by distinct dentate black lines also different from other Belciades species. In male genitalia it differs from other Belciana species by more massive, wide shape of valva, very strong saccular extension club-like extended apically. This and the next species comprise a sister species pair. Externally, by wing coloration and pattern they resemble some species of Diphteroides, known from Indonesia, but are well differentiated from this genus by genitalia and other structures. Their affinity with Belciades is not completely clear; their systematic position will be clarified after revision of Donda and Belciana and other related groups of the Pantheinae.	en	Behounek, Gottfried, Han, Hui-Lin, Kononenko, Vladimir (2011): A review of the genus Belciades Kozhanchikov, 1950 (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae, Pantheinae), with descriptions of two new species from China and Thailand.
