This new species can be easily distinguished from I. bivittatta by the presence of three paired grey pruinose stripes on the scutum, and by characters of the male genitalia (Figs. 4 – 12).

Description. Male. measurements: 6.3 mm (body length from the head to the posterior tip of the scutelum), 9.5 mm (wing length), 1 mm (distance between the eyes at the level of anterior ocellus).

Color. Parafacial yellow to light brown with silver pruinosity; gena, proboscis and palpus yellow to light brown; postpedicel brown with silver pruinosity; arista yellow to light brown on basal fourth and reddish-brown apically; frontal vitta reddish-brown with minute silver setulae; ocellar triangle and fronto-orbital plate reddishbrown. Thorax laterally, humeral callus, notopleuron and legs yellow to light brown; scutum dark brown with three silver pruinose stripes. Lower calypter yellowish; upper calypter hyaline with darkened borders; wing mostly hyaline yellowish, slightly darkened on upper third; abdomen yellowish to light brown with a median brown stripe that extends to the distal borders of the tergites, but tergite five brown with yellowish apex; claws brown with black apex.

Head. Dichoptic, fronto-orbital plates not in contact; eye with short, sparse setulae; anterointernal ommatidia slightly larger than remaining ommatidia; postpedicel ending before insertion of vibrissa; parafacial setulose on ventral half; proboscis retractile; facial ridge projecting, partially hiding postpedicel in lateral view; parafacial bare; frontal vitta bare; fronto-orbital plate with a few setulae; vibrissa inserted below the ventral margin of the eye and fully developed, twice as long as subvibrissal setae; inner vertical setae convergent; outer vertical setae absent; postocular setae divergent, almost as long as inner vertical setae; upwardly curved setae on gena absent; ocellar triangle short, not reaching half the length of frontal vitta; arista setulose; ventral hairs of arista present; secondary setulae on inner-dorsal surface of arista absent; palpus cylindrical.

Thorax. Scutum regularly covered by setulae; acrostichal setae 0:1; dorsocentral setae 2:3; parahumeral seta present but weakly developed; posthumeral seta present; presutural seta present, twice as long as posthumeral seta; notopleuron with 2 setae and sparsely covered with setulae; prealar seta absent; supra-alar setae 2; intra-alar seta 1; postsupra-alar setae 2; intrapostalar seta present, weakly developed; basal scutellar setae: 1 pair; lateral scutellar setae: 1 pair, twice as long as basal pair; preapical scutellar setae: 1 pair, the same size as basal pair; apical scutellar setae: 1 pair, the same size as lateral pair; proespisternum: 2 upwardly curved setae and with a few spaced setulae; proepimeron with a few ground-setulae; anepimeron (ventral portion), anatergite, katatergite, katepimeron, meron, greater ampulla, post-alar wall, supra-squamal ridge, and membrane between anepimeron and lower calypter bare; anepimeron (dorsal portion), katepisternum and lateral portion of scutellum setulose; katepisternal setae 1:2, not making an equilateral triangle; anepisternum with a row of 8 setae, bearing setulae posteriorly and on anterodorsal corner; metathoracic spiracle larger than halter knob and setulose on posterior margin; metakatepisternum with a few weak setulae; lateral basal membrane connecting upper and lower calypters absent; lower calypter glossiform.

Wing. Subcostal vein sinuous; A1+CuA2 long, almost reaching the posterior margin of the wing; A2 curve smooth; subcostal sclerite bare; distal portion of M straight, subparallel to R4+5; microtrichia present over the entire membrane; all veins bare, except for costal vein.

Abdomen. First sternite setulose on disc and margin.

Legs. Fore femur with a complete row of setae on posterodorsal, dorsal and posteroventral surfaces; fore tibia with golden setulae covering anteroventral surface, 2–3 median to submedian anterodorsal setae and 1 distal posterodorsal seta; fore tarsus with sensorial seta developed. Mid femur with 2 posterodorsal subapical setae, 3 proximal and 6 distal posteroventral setae; mid tibia with 3 posterior median setae and strong distal setae on anteroventral, ventral and posteroventral surfaces; mid tarsus as fore tarsus. Hind coxa bare on posterior surface; hind femur with an anteroventral row of setae on distal half, an almost complete anterodorsal row of setae, a subapical posterodorsal seta and an irregular posteroventral row of setae; hind tibia with a strong submedian anteroventral seta, a submedian, a stronger median and a strong distal setae on anterodorsal surface, a weak submedian and a strong median setae on posterodorsal surface; calcar undifferentiated; hind tarsus similar to the fore tarsus.

Female.
