Body yellowish-brown. Medium sized, ochraceous with dark brown and orange markings on head, thorax and forewings. Legs pale yellow. Wings are missing from the only available specimen (Figs. 1, 2).

Head including eyes distinctly narrower than greatest width of pronotum (Figs. 1, 4). Vertex with fore margin produced roundly, the median length is about two-thirds of the distance between eyes (Figs.1,4). Eyes fairly large. Ocelli on anterior margin, separated from corresponding eye by approximately their own diameter. Frontoclypeus distinctly longer than wide, anteclypeus expanded apically. Antennae arising near lower corner of eye (Figs. 2, 3). Pronotum 2.5 times as wide as long, anterior margin strongly and roundly produced, posterior margin slightly concave. Scutellum triangular, approximately as long as pronotum (Figs. 1,4). Prothoracic femur, with AV setae minute and sparse (Fig. 5). Metathoracic femur with distal macrosetal formula 2+2+1 (Fig. 6). Metathoracic tibia flattened, macrosetae on rows AD 9–10, AV 12–14, PD 20–22 and PV with less setae(Fig. 6).

Male genitalia. Male pygofer side elongate, slightly longer than high, with many large setae on posterior margin; without processes (Fig.7). Valve triangular; subgenital plates subtriangular, and with numerous lateral macrosetae (Fig.8). Aedeagus with well-developed dorsal apodeme, aedeagal shaft asymmetrical and elongate sinuate, dorsal margin convex, its subapex with a spear-shaped process; apex acute, gonopore subapical on ventral side (Figs.9–11). Connective Y-shaped, its stem slightly shorter than arms (Fig.9). Style tapered towards apex, apophysis] apophysis laterally curved, tapered distally with pointed tip (Fig.12).

Host plant. Bamboo.

Measurements (mm): Male: 1.0 mm wide across eyes, 0.8 mm wide across hind margin of pronotum;

Type material. Holotype ♂, China: Jiangxi Prov., Wuyishan, 1 August 2008, coll. Zehong Meng (GUGC). Note. The specimen is damaged and the wings are missing.

Remarks. This new species is similar to Bambuphaga balajii Ramaiah, Meshram & Dey, 2023, but the male pygofer posterior margin roundly and lacks processes, and the structures of the aedeagal shaft in side view or dorsal view are also different.

Etymology. The new species name is derived from the Latin word “ lanceata ”, indicating the subapical of aedeagal shaft with a spear-shaped process.

	https://treatment.plazi.org/id/5644878E4401FF93FF5622FAD646FCAD	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
