Length 3.73, width 2.82 mm. Form elongate oval, widest at middle of elytra, not flattened dorsoventrally (Fig. 8C). General color yellowish red, thorax and abdomen dark brown medially (Fig. 8A). Outline of pronotum and elytron discontinuous. Pronotum yellowish red, with a basal black spot, translucent at apex; finely, densely punctured; pubescence of semidecumbent yellowish hairs (Fig. 8D). Elytra yellowish red, with a large black sutural spot, not reaching the humeral callus, narrowed in the middle, irregularly widening towards the apex, not reaching elytral margin; each elytron with irregularly oval lateral spot on the posterior half. Elytral punctures intermixed coarse and fine, dense, slightly larger than on pronotum and sparse in the discal area. Antenna and mouthparts brownish yellow, hypomera and epipleura yellow, legs brownish yellow. Metaventrite finely, sparsely punctured medially and anteriorly; coarsely, densely punctured laterally and posteriorly with punctures large, often confluent (Fig. 8B). Abdominal ventrites coarsely punctured, punctures separated by about a diameter or less, punctures becoming coarser laterally. First abdominal ventrite with postcoxal line complete, extending beyond middle of first ventrite; precoxal area coarsely punctured on base of cavity (Fig. 8E). Genitalia simple; basal lobe shorter than paramere, lateral margin slightly thickened, apex bluntly pointed; paramere slightly curved in lateral view, nearly parallel-sized (Fig. 8G, H); sipho very sinuous at apex (Fig. 8F).

Female. Genitalia with genital plates triangular, elongate, styli with setae (Fig. 8I); spermatheca unobserved.

Etymology. This species is named in honor of Dr. Stéphane Brûlé, one of the most enthusiastic members of the French Guiana project.

Discussion. The elytral color pattern is distinctive for Pseudoryssomus brulei sp. nov. Although somewhat similar to P. crucifer sp. nov. and P. triangulus sp. nov., the spots are differently shaped and the male genitalia with sipho sinuous at apex.

Type material. “ Guyane Française,/ Commune de Roura,/ Montagne des Chevaux,/RN2 PK22, 06.IV. 2013, vitre,/SEAG col.” “ ♂ ” [white label]. “ HOLOTYPE / Pseudoryssomus brulei / Almeida & Santos, 2014” [red label]. 1 ex. Length 3.08, width 2.25 mm. Form elongate oval, widest at middle of elytra, not flattened dorsoventrally (Fig. 10 C). General color yellowish red, middle of thorax and abdomen yellowish red. Outline of pronotum and elytron discontinuous. Pronotum yellowish red, with a dark brown basal spot, translucent at apex; finely, densely punctured; pubescence of semidecumbent yellowish hairs (Fig. 10 D). Elytra yellowish red, with a large dark brown spot subquadragular, covering most of elytra, reaching the humeral callus, with constriction in the apical and basal third, not reaching elytral margin (Fig. 10 A). Elytral punctures intermixed coarse and fine, dense, slightly larger than on pronotum; sparse in the discal area. Antenna, mouthparts, hypomera, epipleura, and legs brownish yellow. Metaventrite finely, sparsely punctured medially and anteriorly; coarsely, densely punctured laterally and posteriorly, with punctures large, often confluent (Fig. 10 B). 10 E). Genitalia with genital plates triangular, elongate, styli with setae; spermatheca elongate, with apex bulbous (Fig. 10 F, G).

Male. Unknown.

Etymology. The name of this species refers to the color of the elytra.

Discussion. Pseudoryssomus rufomarginatus sp. nov. is somewhat similar with P. triangulus sp. nov., but differs in the shape of the spot and male and female genitalia. Although the pattern color is similar with Gordonoryssomus limeirai sp. nov., it differs by the 10-segmented antenna, body not flattened dorsoventrally and tibia widened, flattened and angulated on external margin.

Type material. “ Tunapuna / Trinidad, W.I./ Aug. 26-31, 1969 / H. & A. Length 3.44, width 2.26 mm. Form elongate oval, widest at middle of elytra, somewhat flattened dorsoventrally (Fig. 12 C). General color yellowish red, middle of thorax and abdomen dark brown. Outline of pronotum and elytron discontinuous. Pronotum yellowish red, with a basal triangular black spot, translucent at apex; finely, densely punctured; pubescence of semidecumbent yellowish hairs (Fig. 12 D). Elytra yellowish red with a large black spot, extending from the base almost to the apex, reaching the middle of humeral callus (Fig. 12 A). Elytral punctures intermixed coarse and fine, dense, slightly larger than on pronotum; sparse in the discal area. Antenna, mouthparts, hypomera, epipleura, and legs yellowish brown. Metaventrite finely, sparsely punctured medially and anteriorly, coarsely, densely punctured laterally and posteriorly with punctures large, often confluent. Abdominal ventrites coarsely punctured, punctures separated by about a diameter or less, punctures becoming coarser laterally (Fig. 12 B). First abdominal ventrite with postcoxal line extending beyond middle of first ventrite; precoxal area coarsely punctured on base of cavity (Fig. 12 E). Genitalia simple; basal lobe as longer than the parameres, lateral margin thickened and abruptly widened in apical half, apex bluntly pointed; paramere straight in lateral view, nearly parallel-sided (Fig. 12 G, H); sipho flattened and rounded apex (Fig. 12 F).

Female. Unknown.

Etymology. This species is named in honor of Dr. Everardo José Grossi, a doctor with a passion for beetles.

Discussion. The color pattern of this species is very similar with G. deyrollii, but it differs in body length, and also male genitalia, with basal lobe almost the same length as the parameres, and J-shaped sipho. It also differs from all other species of the genus by the color pattern and male genitalia.

Type material. “ BRAZIL, R.J., Nova/Friburgo, Sans Souci / 21-I-2007 1050 m / P. Length 3.71, width 2.78 mm. Form elongate oval, widest at middle of elytra, somewhat flattened dorsoventrally (Fig. 13C). General color and middle of thorax and abdomen brownish yellow. Outline of pronotum and elytron discontinuous. Pronotum yellowish red, with a basal triangular black spot, translucent at apex; finely, densely punctured; pubescence of semierect yellowish white hairs (Fig. 13D). Elytra yellowish red with a large black spot, extending from the base almost to the apex, reaching the middle of humeral callus. With a brownish yellow spot in sutural margin along almost 2/3 of the suture (Fig. 13A). Elytral punctures intermixed coarse and fine, dense, slightly larger than on pronotum; sparse in the discal area. Antenna, mouthparts, hypomera, epipleura, and legs brownish yellow. Metaventrite finely, sparsely punctured medially and anteriorly; coarsely, densely punctured laterally and posteriorly with punctures large, often confluent (Fig. 13B). Abdominal ventrites coarsely punctured, punctures separated by about a diameter or less, punctures becoming coarser laterally. First abdominal ventrite with postcoxal line almost touching the posterior margin of the first abdominal ventrite; precoxal area coarsely punctured on base of cavity (Fig. 13E). Genitalia simple; basal lobe equal in length to the paramere, lateral margin thickened and abruptly widened in apical half, apex bluntly pointed; paramere straight in lateral view, nearly parallel-sided (Fig. 13G, H); sipho flattened, sinuous at apex (Fig. 13F).

Female. Similar to male in all aspects externally. Genitalia with genital plates triangular, not elongated, styli with setae; spermatheca elongate, not uniform, with narrow apex (Fig. 13I, J).

Etymology. This species is named in honor of the dedicated entomologist, Dr. Francisco Limeira de Oliveira.

Discussion. The color pattern is similar to that of G. delicatus, but it differs in length and the size of the sutural spot. Female genitalia with genital plate not elongate, somewhat triangular as in G. deyrollii, G. delicatus and G. mirnae . G. limeirai differs from all other species of the genus by the postcoxal line which almost touches the posterior margin of the first abdominal ventrite and male genitalia with wider basal lobe.

Type material. “ BRAZIL (PI), Caracol / Parque Nacional Serra das/Confusões, Andorinha, 515 m,/ 09º08’27.8”S / 43º33’42.1”W /CZMA” “Suspensa dupla (20 metros)/ 20-30.IX.2013, J.A. It differs from Oryssomus by having 11 antennomeres and from Gordonoryssomus by the flattened body.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/56318794FF90FFB3799BFA768C70F8E2	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. According to González in his web site Coccinellidae de Chile, the type is lost.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/56318794FF91FFB2799BFE998BB9FD47	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
