Occiput convex, surface smooth. Disc of pronotum broadly rounded into paranota, only in apical area flattened, with medial carina interrupted by second and third transverse sulci; paranota slightly longer than deep, humeral sinus distinct. Protibia with internal tympanum covered by a conchate fold, external tympanum free. Tegmina broad, anterior and posterior margins parallel or faintly widened, apex broadly rounded, male stridulatory area roughly triangular or oval, with a black spot, hind wings longer than tegmina. Male second abdominal tergite, in some species, extending to fourth tergite, setose in the middle. Male epiproct small; phallus with paired sclerites; subgenital plate with an apical excision shallow, without styli.
