660C5C63FFCDFFAF93B9FA09FCCCF9BA.taxon	discussion	Comments and variability. Last segment of maxillar palpi 1.0 – 1.06 times as long as penultimate (Figs 32 – 35). Sclerite of bursa copulatrix (Figs 39 – 41). Species widely distributed in Africa, considerably variable in body pattern, convexity of the intervals on the disc of elytra and degree of pronotal punctuation (Figs 9 – 19). The specimens from Kenya, Sudan (Blue Nile Prov.) and Ethiopia (Blue Nile) usually have a more developed green pattern on the pronotum and elytra, compared with other populations. This color form was described by Valainis (2016) as Omophron (Phrator) ethiopiensis basing upon specimens from Ethiopia. After reexamination of the type specimens and additional material no distinctive features other than body color were found, therefore this new synonymy is proposed here.	en	Anichtchenko, Alexander, Valainis, Uldis (2024): To the knowledge of the subgenus Phrator Semenov, 1922 of the genus Omophron Latreille, 1802 (Coleoptera: Carabidae). 660C5C63FFCBFFAD93B9F966FB60FAA2.taxon	discussion	Comments and variability. A study of extensive material has shown that there are no reliable characters allowing to distinguish O. (P.) depressum Klug, 1853 from O. (P.) multiguttatum Chaudoir, 1850. There is a general tendency for individuals in southern Africa to be lighter in color and to have slightly flattened intervals on the disc of elytra (Figs 17 – 19). The specimens from Angola usually show elytral sides not serrated or less than in other populations. The sclerite of bursa copulatrix is identical to that of O. (P.) depressum (Figs 39 – 41). The new status is proposed here.	en	Anichtchenko, Alexander, Valainis, Uldis (2024): To the knowledge of the subgenus Phrator Semenov, 1922 of the genus Omophron Latreille, 1802 (Coleoptera: Carabidae). Externally (Fig. 26) similar to O. vittulatum Fairmaire, 1894, especially some populations with large body size of the latter. The species known from the south of Democratic Republic of Congo. Perhaps it should be considered as a subspecies of O. vittulatum Fairmaire, 1894. 660C5C63FFC4FFA793B9FCBAFF04FC1A.taxon	discussion	Comments. For a long time this species has remained mysterious. Partly due to the fact that it was described from a single specimen with an unclear label (Fig. 55), and the habitat was considered to be Sudan (Valainis, 2016). In fact, at the end of the 19 th century “ Haut-Soudan ” was the name of the territory of the French colony, which now for the most part corresponds to the nations of Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger. This place falls within the species’ range of O. alluaudi syn. n. (Fig. 57). In its description Dupuis (1913: 216) indicated that the elytra have 14 striae, but the studied type specimen has 15 striae. The possible synonymy of O. (P.) alluaudi Dupuis, 1913 with O. (P.) vittulatum Fairmaire, 1894 had already been noticed by Basilevsky in 1960, who mentioned it on the label under the holotype of O. alluaudi (Fig. 56), but these data have never been published. We confirm and establish the new synonymy here.	en	Anichtchenko, Alexander, Valainis, Uldis (2024): To the knowledge of the subgenus Phrator Semenov, 1922 of the genus Omophron Latreille, 1802 (Coleoptera: Carabidae).
