The material is deposited in the laboratory of Bitlis Eren Uni- versity, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Biology .

Description: Adult morphology. Forewing length 13 mm. Lateral parts of frons beige and middle part white. Tegulae and patagia covered whitish and beige color. Antennae filiform, cilia yellowish-white and as long as 5/6 of segment width. Labial palps upturned and same with color of tegulae, end of segments whitish, segment 2 about 9 X length of segment 3. Forewing narrow, nearly triangular, apex slightly pointed, length about 3.25 X of width. Ground coloration grayish beige and some parts rusty (mostly the middle part of the wing from basal to postmedial line). Costal area interspersed with black and whitish scales. Antemedial line black, oblique, approximately middle part of the line interrupted. Postmedial line black, nearly starting R3 and running obliquely towards dorsum, curving at about CU2 and ending in dorsum as parallel to thorax. Discal spots black, almost reniform. Fringes creamy proximally and dark grey distally. Hindwing grayish and cilia whitish.

Male genitalia: Uncus triangular, pointy at the tip, length about 2 X of width. The anal tube about 3/4 of the uncus. Gnathos almost 0.45 X length of uncus, and the inverted part of the tip of it sharped. Tegumen a bean shaped. Anellus U-shaped, and tip of lateral arms tongue-shaped. Valvae near to elongate, costal edge convex, cucullus nar- rowing roundish or roundish. Sclerotised structure on the valvae towards amidst from the proximal of valvae, and its last part tongue-shaped. Costal bar seclerotised, ending before reaching the tip of the valvae. Sacculus nearly half of valvae and tapering distally. Vinculum ventricle of the heart-shaped, and the base slightly concave. Aedeagus cylindrical and dorsal of ductus ejaculatorius slightly curved. Culcita with a pair of scale tufts on the sides.

Female and biology unknown.

Habitat: Mountainous steppe area with close agricultural lands.

Remarks: Ancylosis igdirensis sp. nov. is characterised by the shape of processes on the valvae in all other known species of Ancylosis . Adults of A. igdirensis sp. nov. similar to A. validella (Christoph, 1877), which is known from Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Mongolia (Roesler, 1973). In order to compare A. igdirensis sp. nov. with A. validella, the studies of Roesler (1973) and Leraut (2014) were used.

Diagnosis: The new species can be distinguished from A. validella by the mainly differences stated following: In A. validella, apex of the forewing rounded, uncus pointed, clasper pointed and long, costal bar reached tip of valvae, vinculum tapering proximally, culcita with 2 pair of scale tufts on the sides. But, in A. igdirensis sp. nov., apex of the forewing and uncus slightly pointed, clasper towards amidst from the proximal of valvae, and tongueshaped in last part, costal bar ending before reaching the tip, the base of the vinculum slightly concave, culcita with pair of scale tufts on the sides.

Etymology: This species is named after Iğdır province, where specimens were collected.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/E02587DBAE35FFC708F6F97D59A2926B	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
