Fastigium verticis conical, narrower than scapus, dorsally furrowed, separated by step-like incision from fastigium frontis. Pronotum long and narrow, disc rounded in anterior, flattened in poster area, lateral angles rounded into paranota; anterior margin slightly cancave, posterior margin faintly rounded, almost sub-truncate, paranota circa 1.5 times longer than high. Prosternum unarmed, meso and metasternal lobes rounded. Anterior coxa unarmed. Genicular lobes of pro and mesofemora often bi-spinose (or on single femur uni-spinose), lobes of post femur obtuse; dorsal apex of fore and middle knees angular, of hind knee obtuse (male) or obtuse angular (female). Tibia tympana open on both sides. Cerci long, surpassing apex of sub-genital plate, cylindrical, carinate and strongly curved at base; apex acute. Disc of pronotum almost flat, very slightly widening to the posterior, sulci in median, longitudinal furrow little distinct; anterior margin concave, posterior margin convex, lateral margins rounded, angular, straight; paranota 1.1–1.2 times higher than long ventral margin rounded, humeral sinus weak. Mesosternal lobes triangular, metasternal lobes rounded. Tegmina surpassing hind knees, translucent; radial and medial field with regular parallel transverse veinlets, less regular costal field and with a network of irregular veinlets; radius sector branching before middle of tegmina, simply furcated; dorsal field flat, acute triangular, 0.28–0.35 times the length of tegmina, stridulatory vein little protruding; stridulatory file not elevated on a socket, with large pegs over the whole length. Anterior coxae spined, anterior tibiae dorsally furrowed, tympana open on both sides. Cerci moderately curved and narrowing apically, apex obtuse, with a hairy small black tooth. Subgenital plate broad at base narrowing towards apex with styli longer than length of sub-genital plate, styli somewhat thickened at apices. Supra-anal plate tongue-shaped. Anterior femora with 3–5 internal and 0–0 external spines, mesofemora without internal and with 3–5 external spines, posterior femora with 7–8 external and 6–7 internal spines. Hind knee with internal and external ventral lobes bispinose. Fastigium verticis narrow, deeply furrowed, apex sub-acute; step-like declined to fastigium frontis. Pronotum with a distinct humeral sinus; anterior coxa without spine, though in some species a minute spinule may be present; Genicular lobes bi-spinose in all legs. Anterior femur curved; on ventral side furrowed, provided with small spines; anterior tibia dorsally furrowed with spines and dorso-apical spurs; tibial tympana covered with conchate fold with wider anterior slit on both sides or on the internal side only; tegmina fully developed, hind wings surpassing tegmina in both sexes; male sub-genital plate without styli.</p><p>Male: Pronotum dorsal view with broad V-shaped transverse sulcus; posterior margin rounded; paranota about as high as long, lateral margin rounded. Greatest width of tegmina wider than length of pronotum; radius sector branching about in middle of tegnima, rarely before middle. Pronotun with disc rounded, apical area flattened, V-shaped transverse sulcus just behind middle; anterior margin slightly concave, posterior margin rounded; paranota longer than high, humeral sinus distinct, fully winged species. Tegmina widest before middle; radius sector branching slightly behind middle. Anterior femur straight.</p><p>Male: Stridulatory file on underside of left tegmina with about 87 large teeth and 54 small teeth, which are spaced widely in basal area and gradually become denser towards apical area. Tenth abdominal tergite subtruncate. Cerci with basal swelling rounded, gradually narrowing; apical half slightly, then strongly curved and bent medially before apical area, apex acute. Subgenital plate in baso-central area greatly bulging, but membranous and sunk in middle of bulging area; lateral surface bent in a circa 90 0 angle from disc, slightly furrowed and not very high; Sub-genital plate split into 2 compressed, deviating lobes behind basal third; somewhat behind middle of length of sub-genital plate, these lobes are curved dorso-craniad in a more than 90 0 angle and approaching each other again, furrowed and narrowed towards apex, shortly before apex curved, apex acute; dorsal surface of lobes in circa medial half covered with numerous minute spinules. Body slender. Fastigium acute, narrow, with thin groove in upper part, separated anteriorly from the frontal apex by a conspicuous notch. Antennae thin, longer than the body. Pronotum with small V-shaped sulcus, markedly flattened in posterior part and without carinae; lateral lobes almost vertical, flat, with sharp deep humeral notch and rounded posterior margin. Anterior femora dorsally without spines, rounded and with few very small ventral spinules, coxal spine present. Anterior tibia dorsally and on ventral side furrowed; dorsally without spines and ventral side with spines; fore and middle tibiae with three apical spurs and posterior tibiae with four apical spurs. Tibial tympana open on both sides. Tegmina narrow, tapering to a rounded apex. Wings much longer than tegmina; Sc and R more or less separate from base, but often closely approximated for proximal half of their length and sometimes virtually contiguous. Male tenth abdominal tergite usually unmodified, but sometimes enlarged. Cerci of male long, cerci of female thin, distinctly curved, undulate. Subgenital plate of male short, not longer than cerci, with moderate apical notch, without styles. Tenth abdominal tergite broadly prolonged behind in middle and slightly curved ventrad, with Y-shaped middle furrow at apex. Epiproct long, tongue-shaped, apex broadly rounded, cerci with strongly curved apex, acute, serrate (without ridge); sub-genital plate divided from apex for almost half of its length, dorsad and covered on internal surface with small spinules. Tegmina surpassing hind knee; radius sector branching slightly before (11.50) or in middle of tegmina; forked stem of radius with 2 branches; wings caudate. Hind wings 3.50 mm longer then tegmina. Anterior coxae with a small spine; anterior femur slightly compressed. Lateral pronotal lobes with more or less distinct angle in intro-ventral region of margin. Pro-femur with 6–7 external, 2–4 internal spines; meso-femur with 10–12 external, 0–1 interal spines; postfemur with 12–14 external, 2–3 internal spines. Pro and mesotibia each with 4 apical spurs; hind tibia with 6 apical spurs and with the following number of spines: pro-tibia with 5–6 dorso-external, 2–4 dorso-internal; 9–10 ventro-external, 9–10 ventro-internal; meso-tibiae with 7–8 dorso-external, 9–10 dorso-internal; 13–15 ventro-external, 9–12 ventrointernal; posterior tibia with 39–47 dorso-external, 36–44 dorso-internal; 19–20 ventro-external, 14–15ventrointernal spines; dorsal margins with numerous large spines mixed with small spinules, usually space between 2 large spines filled with 2–3 spinules, spines on ventral margins scarce near base, close towards apex.</p><p>Female: Similar to male; epiproct triangular, apex obtuse. Cerci conical moderately curved, narrowing apically, apex obtuse. Subgenital plate triangular, apex obtuse. Ovipositor falcate, dorsal margin serrate in apical half, ventral margin before apex, rounded with teeth.</p><p>Colouration. General colour green when alive (in discolored specimen brownish pale). Mixed with brown areas; dorsum of head and pronotum with black spots. Head brownish, whitish including the fastigium, frons, clypeus, gena and scapus, apex of maxillary and labial palpi brown, very apex white; Antennae pale brown, annulated. Anterior legs generally green but specimen at hand is discolored brown; anterior tibia tympanum yellowish brown. Tegmen appears green when live, but is hyaline with veins and veinlets brown; femora of all legs green with dark dots on dorsal areas. Stridulatory vein medium brown with file brown with blackish tinge, forewing sometimes with dark spots. Cerci darkened towards tip. Spines on all legs with apex reddish brown, tarsus lateral side with black strip.</p><p>Depositories; The specimens are deposited in the Reference Chamber of Kushwaha Keet Sangrahalay, Department of Entomology, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Department of Entomology.</p><p>Discussion. The new species morphologically appears similar to Ducetia ceylanica Brunner 1878 and Ducetia furcata Ragge, 1961, but differs in the following characters: the cerci being narrow having the apical part black, serrate; subgenital plate with lobes less deviate in middle and the basal area being wider; internal surface spines and radius 2 branched unlike D. furcata 5–6, D. borealis 4–5 and D. septula 3–4 branched); the stridulatory file on left tegmina differs in the number of teeth, size being smaller than D. ceylanica, D. chinensis and D. furcata .</p><p>Etymology. Fore and mid-tibiae with indistinct longitudinal upper groove or flat; midtibiae with spinules on posterior margin; openings of tympana on fore tibiae oval, exposed and membranous. Fastigium very low, wide, triangular, wider basally than antennal pedicel, pointed anteriorly and almost in contact with frontal apex at a single point; on upper side grooved or with lateral fringe. Eyes wide, oval, moderately convex. Pronotum with flat, slightly concave disc; lateral carinae straight, conspicuous, divergent posteriorly, with fine obtuse serration; posterior margin of pronotum rounded, without elevated fringe. Femura with the following number of spines on venteral margins profemur only external 2–3 no spine internal dorsal rounded, mesofemur external 5–7 internal 0–1, postfemur internal 10–12 and external 13–15. Protibia dorso external 4–6 internal no spine, venteral external 6–7 internal 5–6; mesotibia dorsal external 0–4 internal 9–10 venteral external 10–11 internal 6–7; posterior tibia dorso external 28–29 internal 27–28 ventral external 12–13 internal 12–14. Epiproct tongue shaped flattened. Cerci in male elongated, slightly curved and reaching apex of the subgenital plate. Subgenital plate triangularly excised from base, very styli small, shorter than half the length of the divided area apex sub acute.</p><p>Female: Ovipositor short, strongly flattened, bent upward, with fine serration on the entire upper margin and the apical part of lower margin, apex of ovipositor roundly obtuse. Anterior margin of pronotum slightly sinuate. Cerci of male reaching apex of sub-genital plate, slightly curved, conical basally, in apical part narrowed, bent slightly inward, apex abruptly pointed, width very small pointed spinule.
