T. Aiton (1812: 105), Corydalis wendelboi Lidén (1989: 355) subsp. wendelboi, Anagyris foetida Linnaeus (1753: 374), Lamium amplexicaule Linnaeus (1753: 579), Quercus coccifera Linnaeus (1753: 995) Phillyrea latifolia Linnaeus (1753: 8), Galium canum Requien ex DC. (1830: 602) subsp. canum, and Ornithogalum wiedemannii Boissier (1882: 221).

The new species is an endemic and only known from two close populations from Gülnar district (Mersin province), south Anatolia (Figure 2). The extent of occurrence and area of occupancy of the species are less than 100 km 2 and 10 km 2, respectively. Furthermore, its habitats and populations are damaged during opening of the new road. Therefore, the species should be classified as Critically Endangered, CR (criteria B1, B2a, b (iii) according to the World Conservation Union categories (IUCN 2011).

Etymology: —The specific epithet is in honour of Prof. Dr. Gönül Kaynak (Biology Dept, Uludag Univ.), adviser of the author’s PhD thesis.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/F63087AFFFDFFFFDFF39F899FDC3FB86	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
