Taxonomy. Original description: Glyptothorax silviae Coad, 1981: 291, figs. 1-3 [Stream 3 kilometers south of Bagh-e Malek, Khuzestan, Iran, 31°29'00"N, 49°54'30"E, elevation 660 m; holotype: NMC 1979-0390 A].
