Common name. Mesopotamian sucking catfish

Taxonomy. Original description: Glyptosternum kurdistanicum Berg, 1931: 384 [Serdesht, at Little Zab (36°N), River Bané basin, Iran, elevation 1,500 metres; holotype: ZIN 20780] .
