Aspidelaps lichtensteinii Jan, 1859: 511 . Type locality: “Côte-d’Or.” presumably Ghana (Wallach et al. 2014).

Dinodipsas angulifera Peters, 1882b: 894 . Type locality: “America australis”.

Causus lichtensteini (Jan, 1859): Duméril 1859: 217.

Distribution. This species extends from Guinea to Kenya and southward to Angola. In Equatorial Guinea it has been reported in Río Muni at Cabo San Juan (Boulenger 1905) and Monte Alén National Park (Lasso et al. 2002) (Map 37A).

Comments. Natural history aspects of this species were discussed by Ineich et al. (2006).

Specimens examined. One specimen. Río Muni: without specific locality, but likely Cabo San Juan as part of the material examined by Boulenger (1905) (MNCN 46687).
