Naja annulata Buchholz & Peters, 1876: 119 . Type locality: “Dorfe Mbusu (Eliva Sonange am Ogowe), Westküste Afrikas” Eliva Sonange, near Ogooué River, province of Ogooué-Maritime, Gabon.

Aspidelaps bocagei Sauvage, 1884: 204 . Type locality: Gabon and Majumba .

Boulengerina annulata (Buchholz & Peters, 1876): Schmidt 1923: 123.

Boulengerina stormsi Dollo, 1886: 160 . Type locality: “région du Tanganyka”.

Distribution. This species ranges from Cameroon to the eastern of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, south to northern Angola. In Equatorial Guinea it has been recorded for Río Muni at Benito River (Boulenger 1900) and at Monte Alén National Park (Lasso et al. 2002) (Map 29B).

Comments. Two subspecies are currently recognized: N. annulata annulata and N. annulata stormsi (Dollo, 1886) . In Equatorial Guinea occurs the nominal taxon.

Specimens examined. No specimens of this taxon were found in the examined collections.
