Distribution. Endemic to Annobon (Bocage 1893a,b, 1897; Boulenger 1906; Jesus et al. 2003, 2005c) (Map 14B).
Comments. The phylogenetic relationships of this species are not yet well studied. It is not closely related to any species from the Gulf of Guinea Islands (Jesus et al. 2005b). Based on some morphological traits, Ceríaco et al. (2016) tentatively suggested that this species could be related to T. polytropis and T. makolowodei Chirio, Ineich, Schmitz & LeBreton, 2008 .
