Ophiomorus nuchalis Nilson & Andrén, 1978
HOLOTYPE. GNM 4418.
TYPE LOCALITY. Siah Kuh (Black Moumains) in the central part of the Kavir Protected Region about 150 km south of Teheran, Semnan Prov., Iran .
DISTRIBUTION. Endemic to Iran.
DISTRIBUTION IN IRAN. Fig. 135. So far reported from three nearby localities in Semnan and Tehran Prov. HABITAT. Unlike most other Ophiomorus species, O. nuchalis lives in more rocky habitats and on bare stony ground with only sparse and patchy vegetation dominated by Artemisia herba-alba . Mozaffari et al. (2011a) found four specimens burrowed in loose soil layer mixed with plant detritus under bushes.
