HOLOTYPE. ZMMU R-12390.

TYPE LOCALITY. Nosratabad, 90 km W from Zahedan, Sistan and Baluchistan Prov., Iran.

DISTRIBUTION. Endemic to Iran.

HABITAT. Dry low clay hills with poor shrubby vegetation. One of the paratypes was collected in a “small, more humid intermountain valley, filled by coarse-grained alluvium and covered with rather dense shrub vegetation” (Nazarov & Rajabizadeh 2007).

REMARKS. Closely related to C. scabrum (Pyron et al. 2013) .
