Acanthodactylus schmidti Haas, 1957

HOLOTYPE. CAS 84599.

TYPE LOCALITY. Dhahran, Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia.

DISTRIBUTION. The Arabian Peninsula including S Jordan, Iraq, and westernmost Iran.

DISTRIBUTION IN IRAN. Fig. 77. Khuzestan and Bushehr Prov.

HABITAT. Active sand dunes with sparse vegetation.

REMARKS. Described by Haas (1957) as a subspecies of A. cantoris, subsequently elevated to a species level by Arnold (1980b). Its closest relative seems to be A. blanfordii (Harris & Arnold 2000) .
