Type locality: D.R. Congo, Eala .

Imago (Fig. 47): Wingspan 13–17mm. Head whitish ochreous; labial palpus shining whitish, upturned, segment 3 longer than 2; maxillary palpus conspicuous, whitish; proboscis yellowish, about half length of body. Thorax dull whitish ochreous. Forewing base dull fuscous towards costa, subbasal area white, median area of wing ochrous; a broad costal strigula beyond halfway white suffused pale fuscous and edged fuscous near costa; a white strigula before apex edged fuscous; a silver grey tornal spot; termen ochreous edged by dark fuscous dashes; cilia fuscous. Hindwing base white; ochreous median fascia outwardly edged fuscous; postmedian area white, heavily suffused with silver-grey scales; a dark subterminal line; three terminal eye spots, 1 preceded by a silver grey spot and ochreous wedge, 2 with ochreous wedge near outside, 3 with ochreous wedge within the spot, followed by a silver grey dot.

Male genitalia (Fig. 126): uncus tapered to a blunt point; gnathos ¾ uncus; valva sub-oblong with process arising from lower part of termen bearing three specialized setae which are sharply angled inwards at 1/3 to ¼ of their length; juxta broad; saccus with a narrow dome pointing anteriorly; aedeagus (Fig. 126a) slender simple; segment 8 with a plate (Fig. 126c) bearing a central spur.

Female genitalia (Fig. 162): antrum wide, much reduced to colliculum; corpus bursae long without conspicuous signum.

Tympanal organs: Venulae long, sharply waisted.

Diagnosis: Distinguished by the grey shading in the medial area of the hindwing, together with genitalia characters described above.
