Barombogryllacris Karny, 1937
Comments: Niphetogryllacris genufuscata (Karsch, 1891), is hereby transferred to Barombogryllacris ( B. genufuscata (Karsch, 1891) n. comb.), as it has similar diagnostic characters to B. barombica (Karsch, 1890), such as tegmina shape, venation and ovipositor. B. nigriceps (Karsch, 1891) is provisionally transferred to Afrogryllacris (Hyperbaeninae), as we await the opportunity to examine males to confirm the new combination hereby proposed ( A. nigriceps (Karsch, 1891) n. comb.), or perhaps this female could belong to a new genus similar to Afrogryllacris . The change in genus arises because the holotype female of the species initially adjusts better to the diagnostic characters of Hyperbaeninae than those of Gryllacridinae where Barombogryllacris, of the African genera, is currently placed. This species fits better to Afrogryllacris, although it is different from all other species of the genus in having a straight ovipositor and tegmina do not surpass the abdomen apex.
